Quick question...

Could someone tell me how to change the textures for unique weapons? I'd like to have all the unique weapons have different textures.

It's quite simple but you will have quite a lot work to do too, for exmaple to change texture for fast firing AK-74 from Strelok stash you need:
1. Find new texture (wpn_ak74.dds), rename it but not don't change number of letters (ex. wpn_ak73.dds) and put renamed texture in gamedata\textures\wpn
2. Go to gamedata\meshes\weapons\ak74 and copy wpn_ak74_hud.ogf and wpn_ak74.ogf, then rename copied file to wpn_ak73_hud.ogf and wpn_ak73.ogf. Open those files in notepad++ and find wpn\wpn_ak74, then change it to wpn\wpn_ak73 in each file and save changes.
4. Go to gamedata\config\misc\unique_items.ltx and find wpn_ak74_m1. At the end of this section add this:

visual = weapons\ak74\wpn_ak73.ogf
hud = wpn_ak73_hud
[wpn_ak73_hud]:wpn_ak74_hud
visual = weapons\ak74\wpn_ak73_hud.ogf

It should work, but I don't have time to test it so do it yourself if you want.

Okay I've been fiddling with this for awhile now, and I did exactly like you said, and it works for the hud texture, but the world texture of the gun is set to the global texture >.> I got it to work for the fort-15, but it's the exact same so idk why it works and on other guns it doesn't.

Items ingame keep a reference pointer to their model when it was created, so if you change the model reference in the config after you have the weapon obtained ingame, it will still be pointing to the original model, not the new one.

Can you confirm that you can open a .ogf file in Notepad++, because i haven't been able to open one?

All i get is loads of Gobbledygook!

I didn't think you could open a mesh file with notepad++?

Yes, we can open mesh in Notepad++ and we can see between hundreds of "ţâuKÔqç'ţÁuěÓzçFţźuŤÓƒçdţ~u-" some interested things that we can change.

An .ogf is a binary file, so when we open it with a text editor sun as Notepad++, we see lots of Gobbledygook. However, we aren't interested in this. What we are usually interested in are a few text strings near the top that tell us what textures the mesh uses.

Yep, they're right, when you open it, just search wpn\wpn and it will show you what texture it's using. It'll be like wpn\wpn_[texture name] Also, it will show you the addon textures (wpn\wpn_upgrade).
