Appearance: 169cm tall, slight build, thin, has several knife-scars on both forearms, dark black eyes, dark-skinned, Asian appearance.
Background: Hails from Kazakhstan, served in Afghanistan in the 80's in the Red Army, later sent to Chechnya after the collapse of Soviet Union. Hardened by war and the sight of death, but gave up on serving a large military body because each cause he fought for failed, Afghanistan, collapse of the Soviet Union, and the defensive action of Grozny. After Afghanistan, was assigned to newly-formed Soviet sniper corps.
Joined Duty for their cause. Later found out that such a cause is also doomed to fail after being abandoned along with his spotter in the first Brain Scorcher raid by Duty. Now despises Duty and after being unable to leave the Zone, found his real calling as a private military contractor, or Mercenary inside the Zone.
Reclusive, irritable, keeps away from others, does not make connections with anyone but his spotter, who is currently incapacitated at Mercenary hospital camp. Wears standard "computer" style dark green and light green Soviet camo suit and basic Soviet armour used in Afghanistan. Covers self entirely with long, flowing cloak and constantly keeps his face covered with a shawl. This is his first mission as a Mercenary and without his spotter.
Weapons : SVD-Modernized "Tiger" 7.62x39mm with advanced scope w/ distance finder and night-vision function, Stechkin APB with silencer and stock, 2 smoke grenades, binoculars, traditional Kazakh ceremonial dagger.

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, “You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.”

It's very intriguing idea. |
Unfortunately, I don't have much time to take part in the Forum as well as play the game. Then, usually, I prefer to think a little before when I write something. So, probably I don't fit for your project well.
Anyway there's my character:
Name: Doc aka Racemate.
Appearance:Closely cropped, brown eyes, skinny, chemical burn of left hand.
Background: Appeared in the Zone in 2006 right after second disaster as a member of the RCUN ( the Red Cross of the UN). After Faction war aggravated and all peacekeeping forces were evacuated he remained in the Zone to research the impact of anomalies and artifacts on human body. Has extensive knowledge in medical field. Always heals wounded stalker, if he's somewhere nearby. Even enemies can get his help. In treatment uses traditional drugs, herbal therapy, acupuncture as well as anomalies and artifacts. Also he's perfect in martial arts, familiar with firearms especially sniper ones.
Weapons: Dragunov SVD or VSS Vintorez, ZM LR-300ML w/scope and under-barrel grenade launcher, SPAS-12; med kits, antirad, and other medical stuff for first aide.
"Well, stalker, think we'll live through this, eh?"

Wow, it's great to see all the posts already. Alright, everything looks to be in order. Let's do this. If you have any questions or comments that you would like to add outside of your dialog just put a character before it so we know you're speaking out of character. Example:
In-character: "Night Tremor looks to his left and sees shadows dancing between the trees."
Out-of-character: //Which forest are we in again?
Usually short responses are the best to use with a indication of who should talk next. So without further delay, I'll start us off:
Night Tremor stands in front of the group of mercenaries assigned to his team for their mission. He paces around, smoking a cigarette to calm his nerves before briefing them on the mission. He finishes the cigarette, tossing it onto the cracked concrete of the abandoned building they set up camp in and stomps it out.
"Alright, shut up and listen ladies. As you know, we are searching for the abandoned lab knows as X17 to find this special artifact the eggheads are looking for."
He turns to Grunt, the second in command for the mission.
"Grunt, what can we expect to find on the way there?"
//I figure I'd put X17 deep in a forest somewhere since that hasn't really been done yet. Have at it, Grunt.
