Grunt strains his eyes looking into the other room behind them.

*In his mind* "What the?... Am I hallucinating?" *Blinks*

"Commander, I think there is something following us.. Seems to be a smart one." *Flicks his thermal vision on* "Only the dead can get past this, I'll cover the back."

"Could be a bloodsucker, a smart one that is.. Or the assassins you guys are talking about."

E:

"Or a friendly but scared poltorgeist? Hahah."

"The only thing I can see back there is a slight air distortion... maybe from the heat, I started to sweat back there.."

*Deutsch's eyes become fixated on a new-looking G3A4 hanging on the wall, with magazines and boxes of ammo sitting below it.*

"I CALL THAT!" Said Deutsch as he folds the stock of his Val and detaching the suppressor, putting it in his back pack, and grabbing the G3A4. His face beams as he pulls the charging handle back, inserts a magazine, and performs an H&K slap on the handle, sending it forward with a metallic *THUNK*.

I'm ready for anything now

"The shotgun shells in there are mine, heheh."

Hamzad spotted two immacute AKM's with folding stocks and several magazines. The Stechkin's silencer was immediately unscrewed, its stock folded, and was then returned to its holster. He slung one empty rifle around his neck, too the other, unfolded its stock, inserted the magazine into the rifle, and pulled back on the bolt, releasing it forward.

"Finally, now I don't feel like a fish out of water in here."

Something else stood leaning against the wall in the far corner of the room, wrapped in oily brown paper. Hamzad took the roll, unwrapped it, and what he found made him stare in awe. It was a matte-gray rifle that resembled an OC-14 Groza, but evidently, this one was made far before the Groza prototype was even concieved. It was a bull-pup pattern AK with a long barrel, charging handle on the other side for easy left-hand access, raised sights in the form of a handle, and an integrated GP-25 40mm grenade launcher under the barrel, serving as a front grip. Upon further inspection, Hamzad found that it accepted standard AKM magazines. Hamzad tossed the AKM on his back over to his commander.

"Take that, you'll get 700 for that on the American market. It's rare and original 60's pattern."

He unloaded the AKM in his arms, folded the stock, and slung it on his back. He took the strange rifle he found and searched for grenades. Having found only two standard VOGs, he put them into an easy-to-reach place on his webbing and took the prototype in his hands.

"This is what I was talking about...this was probably classified even in the 80's, the stuff the KGB and GRU were meant to use...this could be the only one in existence for all I know. Quite a find. I'll call it...the SPKM-1, Special Purpose Kalashnikov Modernized model 1. Hell yes, this search yielded something."

Hamzad looked over to where two of his squadmates were looking at something, puzzled. Hamzad raised his rifle in the general direction of the strange activity.

"Whether you be man or quivering beast, come out and challenge us in open battle if you have qualms with us. If not, retreat back to your refuge and leave us to ours."

*Kicks a corpse off and smashes the lock of a dusty, old, metal plated trunk*

*Opens it*

"Well.. Well... What do we have here.."

"Looks like an explosive of some sort.. It looks nasty." *Cleans the surface and examines the explosive*

"I've got myself a nuke, the detonator is missing. This will sell nicely in the black market. You know what they say, finders keepers hahahah!"

"I'm gonna haul this thing out after we get the artifact."

"Hey, look. Theres another trunk over there..." *Points at the other trunk* "Commander, you might want that one, this armory sure has a lot of good stuff in it."

"So far, I've found a rail to go on my G3, a Kobra to mount on said rail, and an Hk79 grenade launcher, plus a few grenades. These eggheads can have some pretty sharp teeth, if I do say so myself.
Anyways, not to point out the obvious, but once we've gotten what we've needed, we should find what exactly is watching us. These eggheads seemed to have had a lot of funding to get this stuff, so who knows what the hell they've concocted here, not to mention whatever mutants may be down here."

"Not everything was brought by the eggheads, remember that. They left the original stuff in their places, now that I think about it, I, along with you, might have disturbed the balance...triggered some bad voodoo."

Hamzad looked around again.

"Don't forget, this place probably still has traps from the sixties, not to mention new ones the eggheads left behind. Let's get this over wi-"

Hamzad almost finished his sentence, but felt something click under his foot. He recognized the sound as a lepistock, or "falling leaf" anti-personnel mine all-too-common in Afghanistan during his service. Lifting his foot was suicide.

"I've been warning you puppies the whole time, now look what happened. That's irony, right there."

Hamzad let out a hoarse, but nervous laugh.

Night Tremor graciously accepts the AKM as Hamzad tosses it to him.

"Thanks friend, I could use the cash - I've been gambling a bit too much in my free time."

He analyzes the box Grunt pointed out to him, looking for a way to open it. He notes the American flag on the side, a new-found curiosity comes over him as to the contents of the case.

"Code locked..." he mutters to himself. He takes a look at the scrambled 4-digit pieces, thinking hard for a moment before continuing. Then, almost as if he's had an epiphany, he smiles and enters the code 1-9-8-6. The latches of the case snap open and the case cracks open to allow access.

"Like candy from a baby..." he mutters.

"Those eggheads always thought they were too clever for the rest of us yet they always choose the easiest passwords..."

He lifts the case the reveal the imported weapon inside. It's a Benelli M3 shotgun.

"Well I'll be damned." he says as he takes the never-used weapon in his hands, taking the box of shells from inside the case and filling the chamber.

"Good find, Grunt. Damn good."

He turns his attention to the commotion nearby as a *click* sounds beneath Hamzad's feet.

"Oh shit... don't panic. Do you know how to disarm one of these... 'Falling Leaf's?'"

He tries to maintain his composure as he squints at the door of the armory behind them where the air seems to be distorting into a strange shape.

"Everybody, freeze. There may be more mines over here.
If it blows up here that will put the lid on all of us."

They were an easy target for enemies now.

There were only two ways from armory where they could take a cover. The room behind of them with incomprehensible objects and movement there which Tremor was staring at, and a huge vent hole that was covered an almost over rusted grating on the back wall of armory room.

"Hazmad, stand still." *Takes a small tool box out of his back pack*

"This was intended to fix my mini fridge but it works."

*Crouches and tinkers with the mine for 2 minutes*

"There.. It's alright now. It could have taken less time to disarm that thing but I'm a little rusty now. Haven't disarmed mines since I got out of the damned place in 1998."

"My special forces training for the 'stupidly super classified' mission taught me a heck lot of things when it comes to urban combat."

"We were sent in there without knowing where the place is, what is our mission, what does the place look like and what are the enemies."

"From the start I've had bad luck, some alien aircraft shot the Osprey I was riding, down. My whole squad died and a medic found me lying there badly injured and dragged me into a room and treated my wounds."

"This suit actually saved me that time. *Smirks*"
