Quest Reactivation

I think I managed to reactivate all quests in OL 2.2 that were disabled, however, I'm confused now because some sections in task_manager.ltx have a strange line at the bottom of them: prior = 1 (number is just an example).

It looks like this:

[tm_eliminate_camp_2]
type = eliminate_lager
community = actor
init_condition = {=actor_on_level(l01_Escape) +agroprom_military_case_have}
text = tm_eliminate_camp_2_text
description = tm_eliminate_camp_2_descr
parent = trader
target = esc2_st_fabric
reward_money = 1500
reward_reputation = +35
reward_relation = dolg, 15
reward_rank = 3
reward_item = grenade_rgd5, grenade_rgd5
time = 86400
prior = 3

There was a line :idle_time which I removed from all sections and game loaded just fine.

Does anyone know what prior = 3 means?

They are some sort of priority of the task, but you can out-comment the line with a ;
Since they are not used by the game as far as I know

Thanks. I hope that my reactivation of those quests worked. I don't like the way OL 2.2 removes them. Many people were annoyed by them, sure, but random popup quests are a lot of fun to me, especially defending the Garage at the Garbage.

The prior values are used to set the priority of the task. Lower is more important. Tasks with the same priority of the same type (e.g., camp elimination) will be shown at the same time. Lowest-valued tasks are shown first.

The tasks use idle_time to set the delay after the task is completed/failed before it can appear again. 86400 is the number of seconds (= 1 day) before it will be re-inserted into the available task list.

You will not get less important (higher prior-valued) tasks until you pass the more important ones. As you play the game, tasks with lower prior values can return to the list before you accept the ones that had higher prior values.

Removing prior makes them all default to a prior value of 0. Removing idle_time makes them all have an idle_time of 24*60*60 (86400). See scripts\task_manager.script.

Edit: At least in vanilla...

Thanks. I'll get this sorted out tomorrow. I'd really like having all vanilla quests back, OL2.2 removes some of them. I thought I'd create some myself but the process is beyond my knowledge. I can't even start it so I thought "Hey, there are some vanilla tasks to be re-enabled.". There were ;-- stuff that I had to remove and I did so I hope they show up now.

One more question... If I set all tasks for Sid, for example, to have the same priority, will all of them show up?

Removing the idle_time also means, that some of the tasks might become very hard to get. As an example General Voronin's flesh killing job oftenly blocks other camp elimination tasks, because Vanilla/OL idle time is too short and target camp in Garbage repopulates really fast - which means that you'll have to run like crazy to get some of the lower priority tasks before these darn fleshes are back, and task to eliminate them reappears. In my own game I just gave at least 10 days idle_time to all vanilla sidejobs, and 20 days for many tasks that I made for myself. ( Plus, I moved this flesh task to Sergeant Kitsenko's task list. A job of killing four pathetic fleshes simply did'nt feel important enough to get it from the faction leader. )

Thanks for the tip. I'll restore idle lines then and see what happens.

BTW, are you sure that those idle_time lines are needed? Only a few quests have them, great majority does not.

You dont absolutely need them, but for the reason I mentioned its better to have them. As said, Vanilla/OL default idle time (86400 = 1 game day as NatVac said) given in task_manager.script is too short, so better add a bit longer idle time in task_manager.ltx even to the tasks that dont have it. It will just make much easier to get all the tasks on the list without running like insane rabbit.
I'd suggest using following values:
432000 - 5 game days.
or
864000 - 10 game days.

I don't think that's necessary because Oblivion Lost 2.2 has no quest time limit. Which makes me wonder... if it has no quest time limit but the game is reading task_manager.ltx, it might happen that it doesn't read that I unlocked those tasks? Just a possibility. :\

I'm quite sure that this wont be a problem. But, of course I've never tried to reactivate auto-quests ( always hated them, TBH ), so all I can suggest is that you try and see what happens.
