scripting stacktrace/traceback?

Hi
Is there some scripting function that returns me the current stack trace (nested function calls) at a specific point in a script? This would be immensely helpful in debugging and error fixing. The standard error message after an FATAL ERROR is mostly useless and the stack trace always empty.

I'm not entirely sure but afraid there exists nothing like that. The stack trace that you'd see in a FATAL ERROR is that from the underlying C++ code, so the LUA script engine doesn't know anything of that - unless there would be some callback function outputting the C++ stack trace which I doubt that it exists.
