Grimples, DO NOT REPLACE gamedata.dbb. Read the instructions again; they don't say what you think. Here, let me include the install/uninstall portion for you:
---QUOTATION--- The gamedata.dbb_scripts file is intended to improve the
operation of the STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl game without
impacting the addition of mods.
It is the ShoC_Treatment script file set pre-packed in
an easy-to-use form.
INSTALLATION:
Just drag-drop gamedata.dbb_scripts to your STALKER
installation directory and play.
UNINSTALLATION:
Remove or rename the gamedata.dbb_scripts file. ---END QUOTATION---
I emphasized the file in bold in the quoted text.
Install: Just drag-drop. There is no replacement of any existing file.
Uninstall also only affects the mod file. Please note that the extension is "dbb_scripts" (eleven characters), not "dbb".
It was supposed to be easy -- just drag/drop; no need to modify fsgame.ltx as the website notes.
The idea is that this file will work with 1.0004, 1.0005, and 1.0006 because it overrides the 1.0004 files but not any later ones. But it does not replace any files, especially not any of the vanilla gamedata.db* files.
This option is separate from the ZRP. It can be used with the ZRP without affecting the changes added by the ZRP other than reducing memory usage and improving framerate still further. But it can also improve the vanilla game a bit even if you don't use the ZRP. |
