Thanks for your feedback! Priboi story sounds interesting. The reason I'm on this forum is because I really like the idea of a fictional story about Chernobyl. I haven't even played the series yet, well, besides a couple of hours Call of Pripyat on rookie difficulty at a friend's house. In fact, I don't even have a laptop yet to play the game on  . The story and the games just look so interesting to me that I'm already looking through mods and stuff. People like Lord Santa only make me more excited . I hope one day I can be of help to this modding community, hopefully with something like a new story.
As for ZRP, is there something comparable for Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat? I guess CoP doesn't really need something like ZRP, but Clear Sky might...
And does ZRP really change NOTHING in terms of gameplay experience, whether it is sound, graphics or features? Only bugfixes? |

well, if you start out vanilla/zrp, then go for Priboi Story and then you can take on the Russian-made mods, such as Secret Trails 2, Narodnaya Soljanka/Stalkersoup for complete overhauls of the game in terms of new levels (in fact an insane amount of new levels), as well as weapons, AI and just about everything you can think of
also in-between those I strongly suggest OGSE-mod, to get the vanilla-flavor, whilst at the same time getting much greater content gameplay-wise
Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat are both excellent games in and by themselves (look no further than The Faction War, in order to recognize the love that CS has to offer), but ShoC is where the true game for your bucks is, if you ask me
ShoC is the one game of these three that has the greatest variety of mods, with emphasis on variety
you could always try out just plain old AMK if you want a real challenge
either way, it is very well worth playing it vanilla, if nothing else in order to get a feel for the game, since (in my opinion) the mods that are available once you've been through the game can lengthen the amount of time you can spend with ShoC for years
I've had a couple of breaks from ShoC, but it's been a month here and a month there, during the past 5 years, but it's always the one game of the series that I keep returning to, mainly due to the mods available
it is not uncommon wanting to play through a game, then move on to something else, but ShoC isn't your average FPS, nor even your average game - it takes a long time to truly appreciate what the game has to offer, but if you do get hooked, chances are it's for life.

And trust me, the game is worth playing for numerous times, I've played this game since the release date. i can dream each and every pixel of it. And it still amazes me. Especially mods like Dynamic Shaders and Lost Alpha. Plus, for the 3th time i would try out Priboi Story if i were you. New storyline / cars etc. Its a cool mod to play and is the only real total conversion that adds a separate storyline into the game

IF I'm going to play the first time without mods, I'm really going to play WITHOUT mods. No sound mods, no graphic mods, nothing. I want te second time to be as special as possible.

Hmm... I'm going to think about it again. Thank you for coming with some good points! You are making me reconsider.

Damn, I hate choices...
But you get where I'm coming from right (see my second post in this thread)? I'm just not sure if I can enjoy the game/series a second time, even if I play without mods the first time. Thinks like better A.I., harder difficulty and improved ballistics aren't reasons for me to play the game for a second time, but they seem to be too good to be left out at the first play-through...
By the way, I didn't want to merge Complete and L.U.R.K.

But let me tell you one thing from a modders perspective:
"There is no other mod than the game itself"

And on a side note, merging big mods isn't possible eh? At least, it is, but complete and lurk? No no, it wont work man.
And starting with mods is not a smart move, trust me, you will spend 80% of the time fixing things bit by bit, the other 15% is loading time and the other 5% is actual game time.
And, dont make me say:"I told you so" When you've realized vanilla first is the way to go
