Hmm. You might wanna take a look at some of the older builds, 2205 and 1935 especially. They seem to have sound environments in at least Cordon, it might be worth it to decompile them and take a peek to see how GSC set it up..

Hm, interesting. Thanks.

Sorry for the small bump, but today I've started working on setting up some sound environments myself in Cordon with the default sound environment tables.
Its not as difficult as I would've thought, and it seems to actually be working fairly well..transitions to and from different snd_env cubes seem to be working fine, and all effects are working as expected... Maybe later I'll try making my own custom sound environments and testing them out.
(Also, l07_military and l08_yantar already have sound environments set up so those might be worth taking a look at as well)
I've uploaded a video of what I've accomplished so far here:

Haha, I didn't even realize you were the guy I was talking to from FacePunch

Are you planning on releasing your senvironment.xr and level.snd_env files? You and I are basically doing the same thing, so it'd be nice if we could work together to lighten the work-load. Shoot me an email if you are interested. therealdaemonion@gmail.com

I'll be doing some stuff with sound occlusion boxes and let you know how that goes.

Also, here are my EAX and Sound Occluder threads:
