Purple dawn

I'm not sure if this is due to Oblivion Lost 2.2 or the fact that I'm using an older PC right now that can't handle full dynamic lightening, but I'm finding the hours of dawn between 5 and 6ish to be annoyingly purple.

Where should I look to change and what would be a good choice of colour?

BTW, I found mention on the internet of a mod called 'natural dawn (less purple)', which was included into another bigger modpack called Stalker Complete. I thought about checking that out (at the very least which files it modifies), but it's a 700 megabyte download. That's too much for my little internet connection. I'll just have to modify this myself.

I get the purple dawn too. I run my stalker soc on static lightening. Full dynamic = low fps... I guess you could always get your character to sleep until the dawn is over. "Marked One! Why are you not sleeping!?".

It certainly looks gorgeous, but it's overkill. I'm struggling to get decent FPS out of my game even with static lightening. I don't need more overhead controlling the weather. All I want is something to replace the purple with. I don't know for sure what would be a good colour though. I'm guessing dark grey?

You're right, SWO in many cases is overkill, and sometimes it's even a real PITA to merge into an existing mod!

If you just wanna replace the purple then I'd advise you'd either replace or manually edit the corresponding sky texture, and modify the weather config sun and hemi colors to your favor.

Where can I find these things? I think the general lightening has the priority here. I'm not sure if sky textures affect that, but sun and hemisphere colors sound about right.

config/weathers directory, there you have the ltx config file for each weather cycle (depending on the mod there are different filenames here). In every config file you'll find a section for each timespan, normally for each hour, but that also depends on the mod. Look for things like sun_color or hemi_color and modifiy that RGB values.

btw, the sky textures would be in textures/sky

How about just the basic "Dynamic Weather"? IIRC it doesn't have purple mornings plus it delivers dynamic weather which sure makes the weather more interesting than just the same type of weather, each day, like it is in default.

Afaik It shouldnt really do any significant performance hit either.

Dynamic Weather would also be a good option to go, however I was under the impression that he'd only wanted to change the purple and leave the rest of the weather stuff.

That's pretty much it. I'm running this game on a laptop with one of the first duocores. The GPU is ok-supports shaders and stuff, but the CPU just can't pull that much. What's a minor performance dent for a modern PC will be very noticeable on this old bucket of rust.

I really just want the simplest tweak possible.
