how to make npcs pick up all weapons

Just blowing of the dust on this thread

I am almost done with my Priboi Story upgrade.

I have looking through the treads and have tried the following:

Assault rifles:

ef_main_weapon_type = 1
ef_weapon_type = 6

Shotguns:

ef_main_weapon_type = 4
ef_weapon_type = 7

Sawn-off BM16 was made into a pistol classs by using these values:

; ef_main_weapon_type = 1
ef_weapon_type = 5 ;7


; weapon_class = shotgun

By commenting out ef_main_weapon_type, changing the ef_weapon_type to 5, commenting out weapon_class, the NPC's should see and use the sawn-off as a pistol.
I also changed the slot to slot 1 instead of slot 2

slot = 1

If they carry a shotgun, (TOZ34, or BM16 Full length ) but no ammo for them in the inventory, they will use an assault rifle in battle if you sell it to them along with some ammo.
After the battle they will equip the shotgun again.

If they go into battle again they will start to use the shotgun, but since it is out of ammo apparently, they will switch to the assault rifle again and use that.

So what i think the deal is, that the lower the value in ef_main_weapon_type is, the higher priority of the gun.

He he I hope so

They still can't quite quit their addiction to shotguns, since they re-equip them after battle, but at least it is a start.

Will test some more and see it flies

You can always use my best_weapon.script from megamod.
It forces them to use their best weapon when in battle (the order of which is fully adjustable by yourself).
I curbed their addiction to rubbish weapons by taking away temptation, literally take all weapons away besides their best one and make them use it, then when the battle ends or you save the game, it transfers the other back to them

Do you think it it compatible with Priboi Story..??

Cant remember if OL is for 1.0005 but if it is then it should work no problem, you would just have to merge bind_stalker.script, xr_motivator.script and add best_weapon.script.

I f OL is for 1.0004 then a bit more care would have to be taken with xr_motivator.script but it should be OK.

OL is for both 1.0004 and 1.0005. There are (were?) two separate downloads. Not sure if they are still hosted (talking about the ones in Kany's signature).

Good then It should work fine.

Another good thing with my script is that when the stalker is equiped with his "best weapon", he is given a new one and so will always have ammo for it, which is best or else again he wont use it.

I can't find the best_weapon.script, where should it be?
As far as I can see it is not in \gamedata\scripts\ folder

The other 2 i can find

Ah lol i forgot it was in one of the patches
check download section for details on which one.
