Mod is done. I can pick 3 options when I install, but 2 requires "Photo Realistic Zone" by Argus which seem impossible to find!
If anyone has a link for a re-upload please post it! |

---QUOTATION---
What would you personally recommend of these 2? (Stalker Soup and OGSE)
OGSE any day
it's a refined version of ShoC and adds so many little touches to the game that it feels almost like experiencing ShoC all over again
it is amazingly stable, has fast loading-times and doesn't alter the main quest more than necessary
it is very suited for more casual style of gaming, in that it doesn't involve any convoluted quests that will take you days to figure out, or new areas (like the infamous "cave" ) of Stalkersoup) which can take a very long time figuring out what to do, etc.
OGSE is by far the best "vanilla enhancing mod" that I have played yet ---END QUOTATION---
Thank you very much for your replies and help. OGSE already downloading, looking forward to try it, hopefully it works.
Also thanks to the rest. |

---QUOTATION--- try looking in the mod discussion section (where you currently are) and read the description of the mods - see if you find any that suits you
if nothing else, look at which thread has more replies, which should give you a (basic) indication of how popular a mod is
I just did, unforunate how you cant list according to views/replies. Found a mod called Supermod Pack, it's 1.95GB, that 'ought to add something new... Do you know what I can expect from it?
Super Mod Pack is ShoC filled to the brim with various mods - it is a fairly decent mod-package with Oblivion Lost as the foundation
I'd personally recommend;
"Vanilla Enhanced Mods":
(these are mods which don't change the basic premise too much, but still offers a nice difficulty/enough change to be well worth playing)
AMK
http://www.amk-team.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=480
this mod is what Oblivion Lost used as a foundation
(you may want to add the Arsenal mod for more guns)
Old Good Stalker Evolution
http://www.moddb.com/mods/old-good-stalker-evolution
this is a hugely popular mod right now and adds a lot of subtle changes to the vanilla storyline, as well as gameplay
there is a new version in the works, but the current one is more than enough to satisfy Stalkers whom love the vanilla game, but wants a different kind of challenge
O.F.F.L.I.F.E.
(found in the mod downloads section of this forum)
removes the storyline completely and let's the A.I. take greater advantage of the A-Life simulation mode, as well as adding a nice challenge, new anomalies, etc.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Overhaul Mods":
(these mods change the game much more than just adding a few new plot-twists and items, instead they focus on bringing new levels, weapons, quests, gameplay, etc. and such are for those thirsting to sink their teeth into something deeply complex and time-consuming)
Stalker Soup
http://www.tecnobacon.com/index.html
this mod is based on a hugely popular mod by the name Narodnaya Soljanka - which adds so many levels/weapons/quests and everything in-between that it will take you hundreds of hours to complete everything
Secret Trails 2
(found in the mod downloads section of this forum)
once again a popular mod, which adds a new set of levels and varied gameplay - there really is so much packed in here that it's hard to describe
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the above mods are those I would personally recommend if you are looking for a greater challenge and want to get the most out of Shadow of Chernobyl
if you also own Clear Sky, I can only recommend The Faction War - which turns (the CS iteration of) the Zone into a war to conquer bases and exterminate all opposing forces - kinda like vanilla, but without a story-line and greatly enhanced/tweaked/finetuned gameplay/A.I., etc. ---END QUOTATION---
Wow, thanks for that post. I cant find a working download link for AMK, so I skipped it. Im also overseeing Secret Trails 2 as it changes the main quest.
So its either Stalker Soup or OGSE. With OGSE it seems I get alot of new features for my 2nd gameplay, whereas with Stalker Soup I would really have to be dedicated to play everything through - which would take hundreds of hours according to the description of the mod.
Im not sure if Stalker Soup might be too much. Sure, I love Stalker, but its something im gonna be playing casually, not hours a day as I have more interest in keeping up with other games (especially with Borderlands 2 releasing in a day).
What would you personally recommend of these 2? (Stalker Soup and OGSE) |

---QUOTATION--- If you've played through the game a few times why not try a rebuild like Priboi story. You play a new character in the same areas with different goals. ---END QUOTATION---
I only played it through once years ago, then Clear Sky, but never got around CoP. I have seen the Priboi's mod, however as I dont remember the storyline behind the vanilla game, I wanted to play it through again before I start on Priboi. |

Giving up on OL mod. Re-installed the game, installed the mod, still pitch black and unplayable.
What other mods aside Complete '09 and L.U.R.K can you all recommend? Im looking for a mod that changes difficulty and adds new stuff (weps, monsters, quests) - basically an overhaul mod. |
