Thanks! I was able to "copy and paste" the protecta from the modded icon_equipment file into the icon_equipment file used by the game, so everything is good.
I love my shiny new twelve-shot street sweeper! |

the icon is located in:
gamedata\textures\ui\ui_icon_equipment.dds
and the icon location is in the
gamedata\config\weapons\w_protecta.ltx
inv_grid_width = 5
inv_grid_height = 2
inv_grid_x = 5
inv_grid_y = 34
change these to match up with the icon in your ui_icon_equipment.dds |

Thanks for the link! I downloaded it. The instructions seem clear enough, but I have one question which the instructions don't really address. What is the name of the file I need to alter, in order to correct the glitch with the inventory appearance of the Protecta?
Or, is there a COP file that I can copy and paste into the SHOC folder and then point the program to the correct grid coordinates? |

I've worked a bit with the inventory icons and can answer this. In the weapon/item files for each item, if it can go in the inventory then it has a specific grid id that looks at ui_icons_equipment.dds and looks for a specific grid section and that becomes the visual equivalent of the item in the inventory.
The problem seems to be that it's pointing at a different weapon and not the one that it's supposed to, so it looks like that shotgun instead of what it should look like.
There's a rather excellent program I found called ""SIE" that lets you easily edit the required texture, and it gives you the values you need to enter to change the inventory icon to what you want to use.
