Trying to play this now myself. I'm using iLoveSHOC's version and am having a major issue. Whatever weapon I have loaded can't reload no matter how much ammo I have i inventory. Just started so I only have found three so far. Also I've I unload a pistol even though the ammo shows up in inventory another pistol of the same type still can't reload. The ammo counter lower right also says zero. Something got switched off somewhere it seems. Any suggestions?

Doesn't help...
Stalker checks all files during the start.
I don't get it... maybe i try to edit the uimovies.xml to the original intro.

Edit:

Ok... now it runs.
Looks quite nice, a little bit to much bloom.
Nice details placed in the kordon.
The rain is way too loud.
I was playing with earphones... I'd heard nothing but rain in the first 10 minutes.

Reminds me on the original storyline restauration mod.
Sadly there no news about that mod.

Add nointro to your stalker short-cut here's how:

Right click you stalker desktop short-cut click properties in the line that says target which looks like "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe"
add -nointro at the end

so it looks like this "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl\bin\XR_3DA.exe" -nointro

I thought it had new levels to i remember when i looked at the description of the mod a while back it says they would include old levels from the 1935 build along with a new story but now there no mention of any new levels or story in the mod.

Gameplay was good

until Agroprom underground. Ctd always when trying to come out to next level. Some missing ac-files or data. When just crapped mil.case without going underground and arrows stash plenty of ctds in garbage and all saves corrupt. Now going back to "lost troops of doom" to fight some snorks.

Yeah it is I already saw that mod a while ago and I'm really looking forward to testing it (it's TBD only atm).

In the mean time I thought that this mod (lost paradise) would also be a great graphical option to go - but for sure I'm not having the luxury to have plenty of time to mess around with unpacking, patching, testing and swearing with this database packed stuff

Hello all,

Yesterday, i corrected bug with missing .xml (in french, not in english).
And my gamedata is around 2.3Go and no 5Go as you say Oliv.

I confirm that you need to delete .xdb files after unpacking.
If you don't make it, you obtain a lot of CTD as it:
FATAL ERROR

And if you conserv xdb files, you can not to use fra or eng folder for text in your gamedata.
The engine use all folders and files (localization.ltx...) contain in the xdb files.

About xml missing files, i only copy/paste (without overwrite Lost Paradise files!!!!) all vanilla files config/text/language. So i'm sure to add all the missing files.
And i changed my localization.ltx of course.

After a little test of this mod (fra 1.0005 version and "-nointro" , i think that we can use the Old StoryLine Restoration Mod text and vanilla files to translate this mod.
Quests are very similar.

But i don't have the time to make it.

Finally, i think that modders use .xdb format for a simple reason.
With this format, everyone can not change easily files or use it for a proper mod.
It need to know and to have the good unpacker.

I think part of the problem might be mods that were designed around 1.04 (which the RUS community seems to have a hard-on for). I've never had any specific issues using 1.06, but I'll go to the extent to "fix" the compatibility problems (if I can't find a 1.05 compatible mod patch).

The thing with 1.06, though, at least in terms of the database changes, is that it only makes changes to MP-specific game files . . . nothing that's used for SP. They're still loaded up either way, but there's no changes to the SP files - in either the NA, WW or RU patch. Only the engine libraries . . .

Either way, it's a PITA regarding the in-depth mods (specifically those that change/mod AI behaviours and background code functions) and which patch version they're supposed to work with.

Perhaps I should simply extract the updated engine render libraries and release those seperately from 1.06 . . .

I've had various issues with some mods when running 1.06, mainly with AI addition/extension packs like that from xStream et al.

It is said that 1.06 should be a "pure" multiplayer patch that influences singleplayer game only in a few, very limited parts (like the resolution thing you mention), but this is definitely not true! Some mods running fine under 1.04 and 1.05 simply won't under 1.06 - unless you do some PITA manual script fixing

Once properly unpacked the archives, I put the gamedata in a game 1.006 (the same for LWR ToD) ,and it starts.

Now the gamedata is huge and is 5.35 GB!

So for a beta ,I don't think it's necessary to upload that!The final version to come out very soon ...

As against ,this is the converter that I use you to unpack properly archives without problems.
I put three .bat files to unpack the archives directly by clicking on the files.

So,you need to do

1 Put the 3 .xdb in the mods directory and the files in the archive above.
2 Click on xdb1.bat ,xdb2.bat and xdb3.bat (wait 1 or 2 mn).
3 Remove the 3 .xdb files of the folder mods .
4 Remove the file fx_stalker.avi ( in gamedata\textures\fx ) .
5 Put the gamedata in SoC 1.005 (not tested) or 1.006 (OK sure)

Then,I launch the game with link XR_3DA.exe -nointro-noprefetch
(I have the cd for the 1.006).

unpacking

To unpack this mod, use the rma tools!
I uploaded the tools with the bat files edited to unpack the files for this mod.
Open one of the bat files and change the file name to the same as whatever you want to unpack in the future.

Put the files in the download in the same folder as the game data files. Just click the bat file you need. It will decompress the file follow prompts.
If there is a path just edit the bat file text to unpack the new file name

I believe it's mostly a way to keep users from tampering with stuff or losing files, mergin other mods in (which causes a shit-load of problems for us modders, cause we're the ones that get hit with someone's questions when shit doesn't work . . . nothing like "hey, I merged AAO with Bad-ass mod v2.0 and now all the bandits are acting funny and calling me girly names! WTF?" , and generally making things problematic.

But, unless I'm mistaken, using the database method can be problematic with different game versions and localizations . . .

Olivious , How about getting the gamedata folder out and uploading that for everyone. I have the mod but can't get it out either. Why do they have to do it like this when it can be so simple.
