What about the OGSE solution? Did you see how some of their detectors that show in the belt AND work as detectors?

[REQ] Detector = ARTEFACT Mini Mod

Hello all,

I would like to request that someone with some scripting skills much more elite than mine can make me a simple mod that I can include in the upcoming Rebalanced v1.2

The Endstate: what i would like is to be able to have the detectors as items in the inventory that only works when they're attached to the belt and their icon shows up on the main HUD like artefacts do.

The Problem: is that only items that are class = ARTEFACT will show on the HUD when attached. However detectors must be class = D_SIMDET in order to work.

The Solution: I think the only way to do this would be to have the detector_simple as its standard class = D_SIMDET and invisible in the inventory (just like vanilla), then have a fake detector_simple_af that is class = ARTEFACT and its icon is visible in the inventory, but has all of its artefact propities set to = 0.0 and all of its absorbation values set to = 1.0. So that no propities show in the description.

Then have a script running that if the fake detector_simple_af is attached, then the real detector_simple is activated. somthing like that.

And this happens for all 3 of the vanilla detectors.

Your thoughts?.. and please all help on this would be much appreciated as Im not able to make any scripting myself.
