Zombie fire queue

Quick question: Is there any way to give zombified stalkers their own fire queue parameters? A friend of mine gave me the idea of making them spray more bullets at a time than normal stalkers in my mod, which would fit right in with the direction I've been taking zombied stalker combat. But unfortunately, I haven't found a way of doing that so far...

Fire queue parameters are defined in m_stalker.ltx. If you add your custom fire queue parameters to m_stalker_zombie.ltx, and make sure that zombies are using the stalker section defined in m_stalker_zombie, it should work.

You can see in m_stalker.ltx there is a variable called fire_queue_section. Just copy the variable and create a new section inside the m_stalker_zombied. Like this:

[stalker_zombied]:stalker
fire_queue_section = fire_queue_params_zombied

[fire_queue_params_zombied]

Just make sure fire_queue_section doesn't already exist.

@Alundaio
That's a change in CoP. CS/SoC embed the fire queue section directly in the stalker section, not link to it.

Oh, I assumed he couldn't find fire queue params because they weren't listed in the m_stalker_zombied.ltx similar to how they are missing in the cop version.

Well, I've tried pasting the custom fire queue parameters into various sections of m_stalker_zombied.ltx, including [stalker_zombied] (which is the equivalent section to where the fire queue parameters are found in m_stalker.ltx). Sadly, the game seems to completely ignore the custom fire parameters, in favor of the originals in m_stalker.ltx. I'm sure the zombies are using the [stalker_zombied] section, because it also contains eye FoV, vision distance, sound threshold, and fire dispersions (all of which I've modified and play-tested heavily lately). The CoP system would make this quite easy, but is there anything else I can do to make it work in SoC?

EDIT: Actually, I think zombied stalkers might use their own hidden fire queue parameters, instead of the ones in m_stalker.ltx. They seem to fire short bursts at regular intervals, regardless of range. I'm not sure about this, but it doesn't seem exactly the same as how I've got normal stalkers firing...

It might that be xr_combat_zombied.script is overriding the fire queue's.
Just a guess.

this is a really cool idea.

that's weird tho, i dont get why it wouldn't just work under the
[stalker_zombied]:stalker

section.... i take it you started new game before testing?

Haha, wow... I somehow didn't think to try starting a new game and sprinting over to Yantar, probably because the other changes I was making to m_stalker_zombied.ltx were taking effect immediately. Anyway, I just tried that, and it does work after all. Thanks for the reminder!

i would've just used ZRP to teleport there, lol. I'd be interested to see what settings you came up with in the end.
