OK, i'm new here and fairly new at creating\editing SP maps. Recently, with a great help from [link]http://stalkermod.wiki-site.com/index.php/Working_on_all.spawn_with_SOC_level_editor[/link] ( big thanks to Bangalore ) i setup my level editor. So, spawning works like a charm but i wanted to add static objects too, but i get this error. I tried to search for this in SOC, CS and COP forums, but nothing. Googling was no go too as i get only two forums in russian with no straight answer... Please help.

Hello!
Welcome here, good to see some fresh faces, who choose messing with level editor.
Do you want to recompile maps with new static meshes? What exactly did you add to the map?
What's in your SDK log?
(must be somewhere around C:\Program Files\X-Ray SDK\level_editor\logs\level*.log)

Thanks for such a warm welcoming. My face is not so fresh, by the way. I have my share of scars from the battles against x-ray since 2009 when i discovered this magnificent game. So, this is step-by-step what i did exactly: decompiled escape level with batch file from your tutorial, added one item from objects library (props/objects/bed&mat/ divan_01), clicked on "sectors" menu, clicked visibility/unhide all, clicked on house where i put my object and "capture volume", clicked on compile/build. Building failed with this error. The last thing builder was doing is "merge LOD textures" and boom- crash...

Ahh, ok, this is a well known error with level editor. Converted maps load sometimes too much lod textures.

Try out the Magical Map Opening:

1. You have to start LE, load the level, move along Y axis down until you can't see the level. Now save your map. The scene will be saved with the camera position, so you can't see anything from the map. Not a single texture.
2. Now quit and restart LE. Load your map. Don't roam around, so textures won't load. Hit Compile -> Build immediately. This must be successful.

And yes, there will be much more wounds if you choose LE as a tool...

Oh my god i can't believe this... I knew that it must be something stupid that i missed, but this is ridiculous. It actually worked... Yay! So this is Magical Map Opening, huh? I need to make a note about another problem solved(?). I'm fully aware that future work will be rough ride, but with modders like YOU around, i believe that progress WILL BE, unlike when it used to be when ONE bug can kill any hope to see light in the end of tunnel. Big thanks, you really saved my ass (again). Oh, about the NOTES... Maybe you have some list of bugs and ways to crush them somewhere around? I'm sure that article with info like this (in english of course) would be great help to everyone.

We don't have a bugs list for LE. I just keep them in my mind. There are too much from them.

I'm not actually mod stalker (count me as retired), but i keep my eyes on these forums, and i still help if i can.
If you search extensively these forums, you can find every solutions for every LE related problems. Because of the lame search functions of these forums, "you can try Google with the search parameter site:gsc-game.com to check this site." (quote from Natvac)
