Viritual Reality

Now I'm a fan of the MGS series and I've been thinking how it would work to play MGS in an VR machine. Then I thought, why not other games? So, how do you think it would be to play Stalker in VR???

Yeah, I know ┬┤they haven't invented games for VR.
But i think it would be fun to test.

"A game without simple controls."

But it may take several years before you can play games on VR.
And even longer before you can have it at home...

Yeah, though i don't think it will do some serious damage to you.
But it will probably hurt quite much.

Well, well. We'll just have to wait until we can test it ourselves.

Speaking of damage, I wonder how fast one would go blind from nearsight if many games supported VR helmets/glasses. Staring for hours at images centimeters away from the eyes can't be healthy.

Good point, but if VR were to become big really big, they would have to find some way to fix the problems with the helmetd and glasses. I mean I don't think it will go far if everyone who uses it such as kids to adults are losing their sight slowly. People will be sueing the companies that make the VR systems. Just look at the Nintendo Virtual Boy. That didn't go anyway. My guess that it'll be a quite a few years before we start seeing VR systems. I say around 1010. I can only imagine it all. Graphics will be so relaistic and couple that with VR. I can't wait to see how far computers will ahve advanced in 5 years. We'll prob have CPUs at 6Ghz as standard.

Reading isn't very good for you, either. Your eyes are meant for scanning the distant horizon for sabre-toothed tigers, not peering at high-contrast characters all day.

I dont know about all this VR Balogna, but to start off cant we at least start getting moniters rated by angle vision instead of this 21" 19" 17" crap. All i want is a moniter that can support 130 degrees of freedom. I can't remember how many times i've died in a game simply because i'm limited to 80 degrees and i couldn't see that one terrorist who's just barely out of my moniters reach.

BTW this also adds greatly to the immersion factor. Try playing a game where you can turn up the field of view and set it to 130 and put your face really close to the screen. It's a pain to your eyes and not good but its amazing how emmersive it gets. (hl2 command is fov)
