---QUOTATION--- Its an alternate (but close) reality. The USSR is still together. ---END QUOTATION---
Lol, I've been thinking the USSR has collapsed in Stalker for this past year. Whoops . But events like this would have eventually led to the collapse of USSR.
In 2005, World of Warcraft destroyed the lives of millions of seemingly normal people, plunging them headlong into a virtual world of might, magic and adventure. It's alluring ease of play and eloquent interface sucked the souls and stole the lives of businessmen, housewives, teachers, the young and the old...Set your watches forward to 2012. Stalker Coreleases with its pentultimate mod: Stalker of Warcraft! The great Dwarven nuclear reactors have malfunctioned, sending Azeroth into a global apocalypse. Can you survive in this bleak, twilight world? Strap on your gasmasks and embark on the ultimate quest: The quest to find another living soul so that you don't lose your mind!
Hey, you find a better idea for a mod.

I've been looking at some screen shots and it isn't very clear who the troops are. The camo could be that stuff used by MVD but im not sure and there are a bunch of different AK rifles. Plus no luck with flags on soldiers, someting on the left shoulder, but i cant make it out. Look at the UAZ (I think...) in the movies and pics, the logo-thing on the door has a blue and yellow theme, colors of the Ukr. flag. I dont speak the laguage so a translation would be helpful.
The currency makes sense in a way because the zone has been isolated from the rest of ukrain. |

I was saying that that the currency is not a good clue. it would still be there even if the USSR had fallen. the zone is isolated and would not have recived any new currency.
