'SelectWeather' (a nil value) & Nimble stuck

1. I killed almost all poltergeists before getting to Nimble, one more spawned, which i immediately killed. Yet after I guide him out of his room he switches to combat mode and refuses to proceed out of tunnels.

2. After that point, after specific amount of time game keeps crashing for another reason.

Nimble worked OK for me but I am getting the SelectWeather bug as well.

For Nimble, perhaps you did not kill all the rats? There are 5-6 of them in the tunnel (or at least there were for me).

Nimble mission (rescue)

For me the rescue was also a success - but the rat that ran off while finding Wolf's Key made a return (not a prob) and there were 7 poltergeese tooling around in a flock (each yielding a 'brain')

Another brainless polt spawned on contacting Nimble, but when liberated he dutifully yomped back to Rookie Village.

I even got rewarded by Siddie for the rescue.... at which point the damn game CTD'd and it looked like it was bc of Nimble pulling a vanishing act:-

This is with DC ver1.4000.
I went looking for the 1.4001 patch on Moddb and came this far:-

this has been posted a number of times on moddb. its a known bug that patch 1.4001 fixed before it was pulled. the patch deleted db files so if you wait a day or so the new patch will fix this plus some other bugs. new game required tho

No problemo. Few things in life work as advertised first time.
I was just surprised that the patch pulled a vanishing act of its own.
If 'that' is what it was doing to the dbs.

No rats to be seen for me, also after replaying the mission.

Also poltergeists wield no brains.

More importantly, after replaying the mission and leading Nimble back to rookie camp the game freezes seconds after he goes to sleep. Unplayable.

Exactly.
Unplayable. In its current iteration.

About the poltbrains: it could be just like a Boar herd, either they most seem to yield a hoof, or they ALL come up empty. Feels as though the yield probability is set to 0.5.
Just an observation. The graphic for the "brain" has been updated to something less ersatz looking. The ratwolf yields a "tail" as well.

I shudder to think what a chimera or a pgiant might yield. Not going to rush to find out either, the installation took my gamefiles away, and I don't really feel like unpacking the dbs.
