There is no text box to type in a profile name.


Aaaah, okay I downloaded the base files and installed them.
Typed in a profile name.

Started game, then crash.

Profile names

Profile names must be at least 5 characters long. This is the string you type into the initial prompt. "v1ld", for example, is too short a name.

Look in the profiles directory and see if a folder named after your profile was created. Your saves and I assume screenshots will go into that folder.

Thanks, Olivius! That's very helpful. I'll probably add some of the mod you linked, especially the additional HUD.

The dark souls like save system is interesting, thanks for the explanation. Its what got me most interested to play the mod. A similar mode in CoC would be cool to have.

Stalkerstein, are you following the readme file in TKGP's translation? Installing the 3 rar files from there (base, and the 7 in the torrent which is really just 2 rar files) followed by his translation works for me. Install to an empty folder outside Program Files, you don't need to run as Administrator if you do this.

Once you start from launch.exe create a new save profile by typing a profile name into the empty text field as Olivius said. Click the lower right button and proceed to the game.

Be sure to close any DLL injection programs you have running. I got a crash with RadeonPro which went away once I shut it down. Haven't looked into it further.

If you manage to download the torrent:

Try extract to a folder NLC71 at the root of a disk (not C:\).

Then right click on the launch.exe in the folder bin and choose "run as administrator".
Write the name you want in the little windows appear.
You must have the russian intro after little time (console,little screen,console,some red messages-not worry).

Be careful,the mod is very demanding in terms of memory and if several application runs in same time it may be that the game freezes and not start,it happend to me in the beginning.
When I want to play one hour ,I close all application and boost memory,the game run fine...Existing a low texture pack but not test it.

If not good,give me the log,almost all crashs can have a logic issue,the console is modified for that,you just need to know why the game not start. But on russian forum,many people at start can't play...And good after knowing the cause.
It necessary to understand why.

From what I experienced in game and read on Russian forums about inventory :

Inventory player can only be opened if you have not item in hands.

That is, holding at this time should be no arms or knives, or bolt, or binoculars.
On a hot button that can be reassigned to open the special menu,you can select different sections of inventory.(See screenshot few post before).

There are now many inventories categories :

Backpack
Opening the bag, the player will see all the things that you have. Backpack opens with a delay (5 seconds in my game,need wait).

Belt
It shows only the battery and various artifacts, which are in your possession(that is not hidden in the special red container)even if the artifact lies in the backpack. A container for artifacts is not shown in this category. To see what is in the container, open the backpack, and then only a container for artifacts.

Weapon
Weapons and a variety of ammunition, which are available in a backpack , not unloaded. Unloading opens separately.

Unloading
Here you can see everything that the player laid to unload.

Pouch
This shows just what is already in a haversack, or can be put
(as it is a limited number of items) in it.

Special right box
This shows just what is already in the bag, or can be put into it
(and it is a limited number of items).

Belt jars
It only displays the jar is filled and empty.

Food and medicine
There appear medicine, food and some other simple things.

Sleeping bag
Here you can see only a sleeping bag. To sleep, you need to put the bag on the ground and to come close to it. You will sleep menu.

Sometimes we can be surprised by opening the section with a weapon, for example, and do not see your artifact.So,what happens? It's all there, just need to open the good section with a belt or backpack completely.
Some quest items can only be seen in a backpack.

The most important,is in the menu options ,we need to correct setting all the news necessary keys,this is imperative because at first,when I played the first hour, I did not understand why I could not open the inventories...
This new system work perfectly but at first ,it's a little inusual and tricky to correct used the differents inventory screens.
Not bad,I think we really feel properly manage the various pockets of the bags.

I had a video show inventory few months ,but I can't refind it...
I will search it.

Thanks for the translation, TKGP. And thanks for the overview of the save system, Olivius - that got me to download and check it out.

Anyone have an overview of the new inventory system in this mod? There's the base inventory on the I key that seems to now have new functions. There's the ; and ' whose functions are not clear to me. Anyone figured this stuff out yet?

olivius thanks very much again for this important information. i was thinking maybe they used a special method of saving to keep things hardcore, but didn't know what it was. now at least i can start playing with purpose

instructions

my game works so...
1 download tkgp's translation
2 download the mod from the 2 links in tkgps readme
3 unpack to a folder of your choice
4 apply translation folder
5 start game. a small box appears with 2 fields, 1 blank and 1 with 4 zeros. put your desired profile name in the blank box and hit ok
6 start new game
from here i'm not real sure. i wandered around a bit as olivius said, then quit and restarted. changed resolution etc. to suit my tastes and started a new game again but...there is no option to save a game and the quicksave keys don't work so not sure what to do. no point doing anything till i know about saving
