I notice that the engine dynamically changes the volume of the footsteps when the player is running, walking, crouching or low crouching.

Is this hard-coded in the engine, or is this in a .ltx or .script file somewhere?

Ideally, I would love to actually have the audio change in these different states. For example, running uses "run.ogg", walking uses "walk.ogg," crouch uses "crouch.ogg," etc.

Is this possible?

Possibly set in gamemtl.xr, but I`m guessing, Dez would know but he`s not available at the moment.

I didn't make it, but in CoP you could open the .xr files with the shader editor (SDK0.7).
I don't know if it's the same thing in SDK for SoC. Test it.

I didn't take time to test it too.

I searched for you in .ltx files, it's a fact, this is no lines to call actor "walk sounds".

But you could find that you're searching in gamemtl.xr.
In LE, this is the gamemtl that control sounds when actor walk on a surface (water, wood, heath, grass, metal...).
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
Search:    
Search conditions:    - spaces as AND    - spaces as OR
