NC Project demo

Well, the New Concept Project was cancelled long ago, but a nice demo map is surfaced in the last months/weeks. Earlier BAC9-FLCL showed some nice screens, now you can see and play a little part of the project.
The project is based on build 3120. It's not a mod, installed SOC is not needed. It has one huge area, with some a-life.

The demo size is 3 GB zipped.

Darius 4 (Dada4) saw and found and tell us this fantastic stand alone December 28 and so,direct,we "jump" on it !!
So great demo!

Any chance this fantastic project continue ?

Surely not...

See BAC9-FLCL 's post about inefficient X-ray tools and about AI map barriers: xrAI can't gather and the engine can't bear more playable ai area than 1,5 x 1,5 km (~70-80 MB sized graph/map). This is really a low blow for huge outdoor maps:

if you have a good pc with lots of rams and 64bit win7. plz dont start to tell me about 32bit apps, we know... but see for yourself. for instance one of our maps is almost 10 km2 big (5x2km), on win xp no matter what you do, xrai will crash when it makes level graphs, on win7 64 it works. however it wont change a fact, its terribly unconvenient to work with big maps.

Well, then you can make some easy test: make a completely flat and empty terrain, first start with 1.5 km x 1.5 km, then raise the size. Generate ai map, and try to make graph from ai map on Win7 x64.
Borovos, if you don't have Win7 x64, just send me the files, I can offer my rig (Phenom II X4 965, 8 GB RAM), and a Win 7 x64 to test what Dezodor said.

So, this answer call new questions. For you, what is the maximum quantity of faces and vertices for a level?

And it's a very big terrain.
But what is the ratio between the terrain size and the aimap size.
Your aimap covers 50% or 75% of your level? More? Less?

I'm very interesting by this informations, they help me in my work.

I have Win7 64bits with 8Go RAM DDR2 and a Core2 Duo E8400.
And i use the Application Compatibility Toolkit for all tools from SDK (LE, xrai, xrlc...), in Xp SP2 compatibility mod.
Stupid question: xrai and xrlc could run on Win7 64bits????

I don't have problems with xrai, xrlc or xrdolight under Win 7 x64, they work as usual.

Ok, i'm trying now. It took 13 minutes to generate an ai map for 1.5 km x 1.5 km, so tests will take long time.
 
Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
Search:    
Search conditions:    - spaces as AND    - spaces as OR
