Another update!!

Ok, 1.06 is now on the way!!! I'm integrating the annoying audio fix into it. And add a few weapon sounds. This time, since it contains the weapons sounds, i'll have to include the various LTX files also,so the guns will have proper sounds. I will use vanilla ltx's, so using with other mods will require merging. Making diffrent compatibility versions for various mods would take forever. Anyway, back to work, so i'll get this puppy released! Later!!!

Yeah, i've added a few. But the randomness of the sounds seems a bit...well randomLESS. If i add my new sounds to the env_ambient list, they almost everytime get played last (after the usual ambience), if at all.
But they are there, just being played very rarely. I also added some sounds to X18, but didn't notice them much. Although, they are very similar to the vanilla sounds, so it might be i just didn't notice them. Which is kinda good, proves that they don't stand out from the original sounds. Or maybe i've become kinda "deaf" to them, working so much with the same sounds.

Well, when i release this, you all be the judge.

Oh, btw, the new weapon sounds don't cover all weapons. I haven't (yet) found sound replacements for all weapons that i would be satisfied with. But the basic stuff is revamped!
I left the big shotguns and few pistols as they are in vanilla. Besides, there are a ton of sound mods for weapons, so they aren't my main focus. The way i usually work, is just playing until i stumble on to something i think could be improved. So, if i'd try to make this ready from start to finish, it might take ages!!!

Yo, Darius!

The following files in v1.06 are faulty:

* gamedata/sounds/material/dead-body/collide/hithard01hl.ogg
* gamedata/sounds/material/dead-body/collide/hithard02hl.ogg
* gamedata/sounds/material/dead-body/collide/hithard03hl.ogg
* gamedata/sounds/material/dead-body/collide/hithard04hl.ogg

My game crashes before even loading the main menu with all of them, resulting in a BugTrap error of the following form:

XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "C:Program FilesTHQS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of ChernobylbinxrCore.dll" at 001B:01107CB5, xrDebug::backend() 165 byte(s)

Hmm, that's weird. I didn't have any problems while testing this. Well, just delete those files, and they will revert to vanilla. I'll check whats up with those files. Btw, they are merged from Annoying audio fix.

EDIT: Found the problem. I accidentally (again,dammit!) added those sounds WITHOUT fixing the new ogg-comment checksum. So they basically aren't even recognized as sound files. I'll fix them right away and release them as a patch. Sorry about that, folks! :/

FIX released for CTD! Updating original 1.06 to include the fixes.

Well,seems those sounds went under the radar after hex edit. After copying the comment in hex edit, i was supposed to fix the checksum with Fixoggcs program. I had quite a list to run thru, so these few sounds slipped. Well, main thing is they're fixed now!

EDIT:

Damn, these issues keep popping up! Now i apparrently have a typo in the w_groza.ltx

This line in the file:

snd_shoot = weapons\groza_shot
snd_shoot1 = weapons\groza_shot

SHOULD BE:

snd_shoot = weapons\t_groza_shot
snd_shoot1 = weapons\t_groza_shot

Damn, i just keep screwing this up more and more....

Funny coincidence: I was looking for some replacement sounds to be used for the mutant cat in the game. I checked some sound fx sites and found a
wild lynx sound. I'm pretty positive that the sama EXACT sound was used in the vanilla for the sound of the Rodents (tushkanos).

EDIT:

[link]http://home.att.net/~kittycatfurballssounds2/rrjag.WAV[/link]

That sound is a Jaguar growling, and sounds awfully alot like the Tushkano!
