I've always hated that you can tell a friend or foe by their outfit - especially in an environment where everyone must scrap for their equipment . . . besides, who's to say a bandit doesn't prefer a stalker outfit over that leather coat, y'know?

dont think its mod related thing, i had this too with vanilla shaders. you can try to edit user.ltx (or type in console):

r2_sun_near_border x.x

and set the value, which is possibly 1.0 to 0.1 or so. this should fix that shadow issue.

Sorry for the 2 week late reply .

I've been really busy and haven't been able to play STALKER. In fact, I still have not had the time, and have not tried out what you suggested, though I do thank you for your reply, and I bet it will most likely solve the issue.

Next time I have time to boot up stalker I will try it.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem with all the NPCs in the freedom base, that all look like they have floating Galil's rather than actually holding them (see screenshot).

I know there is lots of small bugs with 1.1, but the floating galil is really annoying me, and I cannot figure how to fix it myself.

fixing weapon positions in lurk 1.1

well I guess I just figured out my own question, although it is rather annoying to guess and check the correct weapon position coordinates and restarting the game each time until it's right. If there is an easier way to fix plz lmk.


1. To fix the 'floating' Galil ARM, open galil_arm.ltx and correct this parameter "position = -0.025,-0.175,0.01".

2. Also I have found that the lurk 1.1 rc has left out the wpn_sg550.ogf model from the arsenal rc1 mod. To fix this either download the arsenal rc1 mod, and copy \meshes\weapons\sg550\wpn_sg550.ogf to the lurk release, and then all settings will work as normal (hi-res sg550 skin).

Fix the 'floating' Sig550, open sig550.ltx and change these parameters "position = -0.026,-0.0975,0", "inv_grid_x = 71" and "inv_grid_y = 30". (Lower-res skin)

*Note: these are the 3rd-person weapon positions, not the hud_position (1st-person) which comes after the [wpn_'wpn_name'_hud] section in the weapon's .ltx - these changes got the weapon positions right on the money imo.


If I find anymore screwed up floating weapons like this i will post it, because this is a really great mod but these minor flaws really are detracting.

looks like LURK development has started up again which Im happy to see, i just hope they can fix alot of the stuff in it, or maake it more...stalker like somehow

I don't care what it is like. the LURK series has been my favorite mod series ever, and I would orgasm if I could play 2.0. I feel like it is more how stalker should play like. But, of course, that is opinion.
