It does have some interesting new material.

Dark Valley. I get a crash selecting the second sentence in the dialog with Boar for his second job (after the Serge the Sniper job). The log file was written with no content so there is no error detail. This happens when I click on the phrase at line 749 in dead_autumn_dialogs.xml. Still looking for the problem.

Jim,

The problem is in my second 'fix' - I can reproduce the crash with that applied - whereas before it was working ok - I'll see if I can find out what I've done! Alas... it's not immediately obvious...

So for the time being I've taken the second 'fix' offline at mediafire - and if you've downloaded it, don't apply it until you're out of the Dark Valley!

I'm obviously using your second fix <g>...

The problem is dead_autumn_dialogs.xml.

The text on line 753 appears to be too long. (I've run inbto this before. There is some limit to the length of the text in a <text></text> structure.) I shortened the dialog and that eliminates the error.

Hi Jim,

That's great, many thanks for the spot on the text too long - I'd worked it out in the mean time, and was just doing some more testing around that task.

So the V2 of my fix has now been removed, and the issue is now fully resolved - with V3 zip replacing both previous zip files:

These files can be installed on top of my previous versions, and MUST be installed over the top of V2 if you're using that fix. The fixes do not require a new game - and includes everything in the previous zips.

I can't reproduce the sleeping bag error - but I have noticed that the ability to use the sleeping bag, even in a designated area, seems a bit hit and miss. Where are you when you hit the problem?

I started playing this mod, realy good! thrilling with fine quality and balanced gameplay,
found the doctor and worked my way through to the radar area and got to the portal into Prypiat.....

from that point on the mod and gameplay turns into adolescence/teenage sh*t!no balance just horror puke,tons of zombies and blind anomalies and blurring effects, player gets blinded and has no clue , on top of that an ai blasts you away with an RPG and that all in 10 secconds!

I'm sorry but is that supposed to be good gameplay in 2013 mods?!!
Don't get me wrong I envy and have respect for the technical knowledge to built such a mod but I'm realy fed up with that old school, non creative ,overrated N-Solyanka over the top gameplay sh*t,
with difficulty which is mainly based on harrassing the player, there is no skill involved.
It seems that a lot of modders make mods to get rewarded for having the most difficult mod there is. pls grow up.

why don't you mod makers choose another direction like the mod MISERY or Lost Alpha, more realistic and mature ,combined with your new quests and storyline and pls leave behind that annoying old school N-Solyanka horror gameplay, its over the top and a dead end....

Jim - Hi - I tried to sleep in DV in the Stalker Camp and had no problems. Did you use the bin files included in the torrent? I don't think I did and think I'm using a vanilla 1.004 bin file.

Not sure if that would account for it... I'm happy to zip up my bin and send it your way if you'd like to try...

Mike - I recall the first part of Pripyat was pretty tough, and I remember feeling some of your frustration. But... if you hang on long enough a wave of friendly stalkers come through and wipe out the zombies - of which I accept there are a lot, but I enjoyed the way they made me think and act in a different way to vanilla Stalker. Be warned the early part of the NPP (after going through the swirling portal) is a monster-fest - do not try to fight them, travel as light as you can and just run for it - the exit is due north as you arrive! Once you get to Dark Valley, 'normal balance' resumes, so hang on in there!

As for Lost Alpha... ...best I say nothing...

No. Only the xrGame.dll in the Mini-Supplements tree for the scopes.

I'll experiment further.
