invulnerable npc died?

Cant figure this one out, playing amk dmx and before i started i made certain key npc's either invulnerable or very hard to kill, im in control monolith when i get a message that one of my invulnerable npc's has been killed by a boar in the cordon, is this because i only updated the npc's immunities (ie edited their mesh to have a custom immunities section making sure to keep it the same length as before, added it to the capture folder and to the immunities.ltx) just wondering if the game doesnt read the immunities when the map isnt truly online (when im not in the map) and thus the only true way to make them invulnerable would be to edit the mesh which i wouldnt know where to start with, not a case of an npc swapping armor afaik as i disabled xrs_armor before starting the game as i wasnt sure whether it was npc name or id that should be in there

Never did get to the bottom of this one and it would be good to know as im doing a similar thing for the ns joint pak and whilst testing i get the message that astrologer has been killed by a boar, strange given im in the same map as him and he is meant to be invulnerable by default (i head shot him multiple times as a test and he didnt die), the only thing i can think is his default mesh doesnt protect him against the tougher mutant attacks so i have given him a custom immunities section, anyway back to my question: is immunities.ltx read at all times by the game, with online alife if im not in the same map as my invulnerable npc (thats online at all times) is the immunities.ltx being read for them or are they relying on their mesh structure to protect them?

David are you suggesting that the character who was killed was killed as it was a scripted event i was unaware of? possible but seems odd, be easier to just delete them from the game and have the playing think they wondered off

Spent the last few days making key npc's invulnerable or hard to kill, finally get to actually play the game and within 15 minutes i get the message that one of them who was supposed to be invulnerable has been killed by a boar in another map, checked my work and i cant see a problem, only things i can think are either the game isnt reading all of the immunities.ltx or its only read for the map you are on and not other maps, seriously confused and annoyed

Sort of, I was wondering whether there was either a percentage script for how often certain people survive or die or if the authors had added something to stop you from making them invulnerable like there is for if you increase your carry weight. I was just taking a shot in the dark seeing as no-one else had.

When you make an otherwise mortal NPC into an immortal do you check you alterations against the details of an NPC in the game who is immortal as part of the storyline?

'Monolith Shade' and 'Chimera' the sniper's leader are both immortal in the mod, aso their files should point the way to successfully making others immortal.

The person who was killed in my first post of this thread was the only invulnerable character to be killed in the entire playthrough of that particular game of dmx 1.3.4 and was so no big deal as i was done with them at the time but it got me wondering how it happened, in the files in the capture folder along with an immunities_section that relates to the immunities in immunities.ltx there is a bones_protection_section which corresponds to damages.ltx which i think is what needs to be edited (assuming damages is read all the time), i was following act_tank as a guide, nothing to lose really

I know the usual process for making an npc invulnerable and have done it in the past without issue (including amk ns games), in vanilla characters are only online when your on the map which i think is the problem im having, immunities not being read on offline maps with online alife, are you sure chimera is invulnerable in this mod as i thought he used the same mesh as the other shades

The dialogue about Chimera being immortal is still in the mod, though I didn't actually put it to the test and shoot him. I have in an earlier version and he is, indeed, either immortal or ridiculously hard to kill.
