Importing weapon models into milkshape

I have SDK with update installed, and milkshape with newest plugins for xray (I've tried older plugins too, didn't work either).

Xray path to SDK seems correct. But whenever I try to import ogf from SOC or COP, milkshape crashes. Any ideas why? Its log doesn't really say anything, only that it started loading xray import dll....

Correct version of Milkshape?

The plugins also aren't very stable either. Doesn't seem to be any form of error handling in them either.

This happens for me too, under Win7, i can't import any ogf. I tried everything, multiple plugins, switched off win7 overprotective mechanisms, but didn't work.

It seems to me, that Milkshape works properly only under Win XP, where i don't have these errors.

1.8.4, all the plugins say they are for that version too.

I guess I will have to try it in XP somehow...

EDIT:
Well, I thought that if it's working in XP, maybe compatibility fix just like for level editor will work... And it does seem to work! At least I can import the models now.

Sure it will. I'm on Vista running the SDK to this game and COP and it works fine.

You just have to follow the compatibility link just mentioned.

It seems that everything xray related can be fixed to work with that fix...

Trying to convert COP weapon into SOC. I have two questions:

1. How do I get program to show models like this:

2. Теперь, если использовался режим Relative, надо выровнять оружие относительно его скелета. Для этого выбираем все вершины (треугольники, группы – меш, одним словом) оружия и перемещаем его так, чтобы добиться первоначального положения джоинтов в оружии. ВНИМАНИЕ! Ни в коем случае не двигайте и не вращайте джоинты! Убьете все! Если возникла крайняя необходимость изменить их положение – перейдите в режим анимации и работайте в нем!

Could someone explain this more thoroughly?

This weirdo blue mess is because of too big default joint size, change it in File -> preferences -> Joint Size somewhere around 0.01, and you'll see normal size joints.

For COP maybe,i dont know but for xray 0.4 dosent work.Everything is applied properly ,everything works in AE accept append tab to load animation

Yes, it does work after that. Maybe actor editor still doesn't work with that fix like cOldSnake said, but I will give it a try soon enough, if I get to that part of the process...

And thanks, setting joint size to 0.01 worked!
