sorry to revive a two year old thread, but this is definitely the place to ask my question.

does anyone know of a way i could get the intro images to load BEHIND the main background image?

i am trying to make a new load screen where the intro images show through a torn hole in the background image during the load sequence.

i have already merged Thunderfreaks random load screen mod into this and got it working (major kudos for that TF, really nice work!) but i cant seem to get this right.

the theory i have does work, as you can see in the video below. it only works in the last section of the load sequence "press any key to enter the zone"

my problem is that i cant find any script or xml file that controls the order of how images are displayed during the load sequence.

Any help you guys can give would be a HUGE help towards getting this thing finished and out there for people to use.

Oh i should have said this is for STALKERSOUP, so basically using sligtly modified ShoC scripts. i dont know if things are done differently in CS and CoP.

Afaik the load of the small pictures during the game start procedure is controlled by the game engine.
The only thing you can do is to remove the textures from the picture files to make them transparent. Or if you want to have the pictures in your hole shape you have to create the textures with that particular shape.

this was what i was afraid of.....damn it!

ah well, thanks anyway TF, there is no way i am editing every single level intro image, it will make the mod way too big and complicated for people to use.
