Random change in artifact-values ?!?

Hello everyone. I'm playing SoC with Complete 1.4.4. and have been editing .ltx-files extensively, but have run into a problem for which I have not found a solution.

I have been trying to edit the "artefacts.ltx"-file for quite a while now and while I generally had success in getting the results I wanted there often is a strange switch in values, without me having changed anything. What I mean is the following:

The "bleeding_restore_speed"-value for my modded Stone Blood is -0.015 and usually is translated into the game as +1500 %, which is what I intended, but sometimes it randomly changes to 10000 %. Its similar with other Bleeding- and Radiation-Values.

As far as I can tell the number gets multiplied by 6.666666, but I don't have the slightest clue why this happens. Not sure about radiation. Values sometimes get multiplied by 3.33333 and other times are divided by 5. If I change the values accordingly I end up with screwed up values again sooner or later.

Does anybody know what my SoC is doing in the background???

Also, if using the "treasure_manager.ltx" to add ammunition to stashes new additions seem to get counted differently. One stash I recently opened still had the 80 shots of 9x19 pbp, as indicated in the file, while my new ammo had been placed in boxes, so that instead of 40 shots there were 800. Now, I assume I can simply change the value to 2, but it would be great if somebody could explain why the game interprets these values so differently.

It is almost certainly the mod you're using that is fekking with your changes, not the base game itself. Especially that ammo box instead of round business - I'd bet that the ammo it happens with is one added by the mod rather than a vanilla type - had something similar happen in Priboi once: added a small amount of ammo for the minigun to a stash (I thought - only a couple of hundred rounds). Turned out there were 75,000 rounds in there when I looked.

I only have added ammo, that I created myself. I don't think there are even types of ammo, which were added by the Complete-mod itself. But it probably comes down to the same problem.

Well, as far as that is concerned I don't think I'm in much trouble. I will just try to have the stashes contain boxes instead of rounds.

IIRC, you need to add new ammo types to an ammo table somewhere, so the game knows to spawn that many rounds, otherwise it spawns that many boxes of ammo.

Maybe "_custom_items.ltx"? So far I have only used "weapons.ltx" and the according .xml-file (as well as "treasure_manager.ltx", of course).

Edit: But the artifacts are the bigger problem, since I can't do anything about that (except reinstalling and using the old file).

Idea: There are a few original (Vanilla or Complete) stash-contents that seem to hold only one shot of ammunition. Maybe the mod creators ran into the same problem I did (even though it is not modded ammo) ? Unfortunately I don't know. Most of them are in the northern areas and it has been a few years, since I have seen any of them. The stashes in question might really just contain one shot.

There is a stash in Red Forest that I call the 'suicide' stash. It contains one bottle of vodka, one USP Compact and one .45 Hydro-Shock round.

_g.script is the right place where the new ammo types should be added. You'll find the right section near the bottom of the file.

ammo_section = {}
ammo_section["ammo_9x18_fmj"] = true
ammo_section["ammo_9x18_pbp"] = true
etc.

Changing the numbers to boxes has also worked. It doesn't allow for as much adjustment, but it doesn't really matter as far as my current intentions are concerned. Nevertheless I appreciate any help

It might be that my trouble with artifact stats was simply due to changing some radiation- and bleeding-values in the "actor.ltx". Somehow I completely missed that rather obvious possibility
