Missing Weapon sound-files

Hi all. My question is not exactly about "modding" in the more narrow sense. But since I don't really like some of the weapon sounds used in Shadow of Chernobyl (with the Complete 1.4.4. Mod), I have replaced quite a few of them available from the game-files.

My problem is, that there are no sound-files for some of the weapons, such as the Winchester 1300/Chaser. Other guns, for example the SIG220 don't react to changes made to their sound-files. My question is: Where are these "missing" files???

By the way: does anybody know what the difference between t_lr300_shot and lr300_shoot (and shoot1, 2, 3 etc.) is???

The answer is simply that they don't have sound files. Well, to be more specific they borrow the sounds of a different weapon. Open w_whatever.ltx in gamedata\config\weapons and search for "snd_". There you'll find which files are used for audio.
Also a fun fact: the "Winchester" is actually a Mossberg Maverick.

Edit: also to point out, if you just want to use the vanilla audio, simply deleting the file from gamedata will make it default to the original, no need to put a file in its place.

Ah, that explains why the "Winchester" has the same sound as the Spas. Thanks a lot.

Another question. I already suspected this and I'm a bit confused by it: The Colt M1911 supposedly uses the files from "weapons\colt\colt_shoot", but in-game it still is the old, unchanged sound. Could it be possible, that it accidentally draws its soundfiles from my "Clear Sky" folder? Under "S.T.A.L.K.E.R's sound remake" the full system path is never given.
