its comming along well. ive got a bit more modeling to do and then i have to make the scope and silencer. i think i will replace one of the rifles in-game but leave the third person view the way it is so it still looks like the ai are using a dragunov for instance.

it will have two types of ammo, supersonic and subsonic. when coupled with a silencer the subsonic ammo will be dead quite but mostly inafective against armour.

hope you like it, im glad to see there are allready modders out there workin away. a solid modding community will definatly make or break this game imo.

Love the Model phil. i need a modeler for my mod.
it would be nice to have someone as skilled as you to do it.
so are you part of a mod team or anything.

i dont think we can add the models yet Phil because we dont have a packer for it?

well if you want to be part head over to my thread here Chernobyl reborn and go to the forums and apply, your help would be appreciated.

Until the SDK is released it isn't possible to compile models, edit existing ones or make maps. I'm hoping once it's released we'll see a huge boom in mod-making!

I have Mk.14 Mod 0 Sounds from when I fired it. They are very crisp with no background noise and they have only been slightly modified to compensate for the recording quality. I would live to share if you need them. Send me an email.

PS: How many Ploys and what programme are you using? 3Ds Max?.

im using 3ds max and its probably around 1800 polys once i remove most of the right sided parts that you really wont see

this is the first time i have ever made a mod or used a 3d modeling program and the only thing i have worked on other than this was when i followed a video tutorial making a berretta 9000 to learn how to use 3ds max. as for being a skilled modeler all i can say is LOL, if someone who was competent in 3dsmax watched me model for a half hour he would probably die of laughter at my stupidity level. i only know the basics and the way i do things are probably the longest and hardest ways because i dont know easier ones lol. its been a steep learning curve but im really satisfied with the product ive turned out.

as for the sounds of the m14 i would kill for those, the only ones i dont have are un silenced. i have a video with decent quality, sound testing super and subsonic ammo with a silencer.

i am a one man team and would probably be up for joining a mod team so i will definatly check out the chernobyl reborn thread and talk with you there

It seems that the game uses same silencer/scope/grenade launcher model for each weapon. What I mean is that there is one model for silencer that is "aligned" to the gun model in the game. You can find the settings for silencer aligment (For example) from each gun model information. As an example for MP5:

strap_bone1 = bip01_spine1

silencer_status = 2

silencer_name = wpn_addon_silencer
silencer_x = 130
silencer_y = -15

It seems like there are no silencer or scoped versions for each actual gun, but the silencer is "attached" to the gun model on the fly by the engine. If this is true, it should be more than easy to make scoped and silencer versions of each weapon with little tweaking with config files.

While the idea of an EBR finding it's way into the Zone is absurd, my love for the weapon has me terribly excited over the prospect of tooling around with one.
