Gunsmith idea.

Well, there are a few mods rolling in now, and I had an idea for another type of trader.

He would hang out in the bar area (but not the actual bar. I hate going in there, lags the crap out of my PC).

He would be able to modify your weapons to take different calibur of bullet, adjust firing speed, accuracy, repair them and sell the different types of modification (Grenade launcher, silencer and scopes).

Now the mods would be VERY EXPENSIVE (somewhere to spend all the stupid amounts of money you get.)

Who thinks this is possible?

EDIT: Obviously I know this isn't possible until the SDK comes out....but hopefullly that's gonna be soon =D

I like the gunsmith idea. and make the price of the upgrades based on the caliber of the gun, like say you want to buy a silencer for your heavy caliber assault rifle supressing the noise should cost way more than a pistol or SMG and maybe add some diffrent lvls of quality to the weapon upgrades at inceases in cost.

So say for the first upgrade say you want to increase the bullet capacity of your assault rifle you would want the gunsmith to custom make you some new bullet magazines. First upgrade would add 2 bullets to the clip a small upgade with no side effects to the weapons handling. next magazine upgrade would take it to 5 bullets so 3 more because they stack. but it has a minor Handling penalty for the increased clip size. Next clip upgrade would be a full 5 so 10 total so far. another handling penalty which slows reload a little more. But also should have a new graphic with a longer looking magazine.

Then finally the most expensive ammo upgrade for your assult rifle a 100 round Drum magazine which is most expensive but also has a large impact to handling. Ofcourse i also think say you have a G36 with a 100round magazine and up upgrade it to take advantage of 7.62 ammo it should have a max of 75-80rounds in a drum sence they are larger bullets along with it decreasing the weapons accuracy a bit.

I dont think any upgrade should cost just money without it affecting the weapon in some negative way to prevent you from getting an insanly powerfull weapon. But it should be noticably better than random looted weapons.

Also an option to tighten up the mechanism's inside the gun to increase its fire rate but having the side affect of increasing the chance of the gun to jam a little. So you might not want to have the speed increase combined with a drum magazine because of the slower reload time and a jam could be your death.
