Interesting Stuff found in Gamedata.dba

Now I'm going through the Gamedata.dba file, which seems to be a settings file for the game, and there some very interesting things I'm finding in it...

I am no scripter or modder by any means, so more experienced people, do help out and explain some stuff if you have free time.

Now I'm trying to change some settings with a hex editor, but it seems that none of them do anything .... anyways here is what I'm finding, and tell me if I'm doing something wrong...

max_item_mass = 50.0

I tried changing it 90, but it didn't seem to change anything in the game, i still go red when my items exceed 50 kg, and I cant move at 60...

LegsCount = 2

I didn't touch that part, but it would be awesome to have the mobility of a 4 legged creature

body_remove_time = 60000

Didn't play with this one yet, bu it seems that you can change for how long the bodies stay.

sleep_time_factor = 1000
max_sleep_hours = 12

So is there Sleep function in this game?

There are some comments after those lines, unfortunately I do not have Russian fonts installed (yet) so it appears as random characters,
i should be able to read those comments as soon as I have russian language enabled on my comp.

They also have the whole body broken down to body parts, and there is a damage indes, an animation, and a wound scale assigned to each... lol they even have "eye lid" which has 0.0 for hit scale... I'll try modifying all of these to 0 to see if this will make me involurnable.

..............

Ok i'v tried to change all of those to 0 but it didn't do anything, I'm not sure if i'm editing the correct file or what.. I'm following the same steps as were described by the person who already changed the damage values of the weapons (double and triple damage)... I'm editing the same file, but it doesnt seem to take effect.

Anyone interested in experimenting with it?

um- friend, i have downloaded xvi32 as you suggested in the other thread - and while i really appreciate your efforts in making real-damage-mod - i believe you have upped the damage way too much, i solely want to make it 2x only.

would you be able to maybe make a quick tutorial on how to find what to edit in this program? i've never hex-edited before and i'm lost in a sea of strange characters currently.

thanks man

Why are you asking a player? How's he supposed to know?

Because it wouldn't really add anything to the game, except for an annoyance. I wanna play a fun game and not "The Sims - Chernobyl Edition" or something.

well regardless - anyone willing to lead me to the section of gamedata.dba or what to search for in regards to editing weapon damage and statistics?

i've searched terms like damage and i get alot of results, none of it seemingly relevant.

But then again some missions you get are easier to do at nighttime, and if the a-live works like it should at night the zone would be more dangerous, so sleep would be very nice (only if it was to skip time ) and also i think there should have been a rest factor in the game or at least some coffee , a person who is tired is less accurate with weapons, less alert on his surrounding enviroment.
