The contest may end, but will the fan's enthusaim? The reason i say this is because I'm making a chronicle (just about 6 stories) and im sure by time i finish at least the 3rd one, the contest might be over. I know some of you really enjoy this and when the game comes out, we'll be loaded with even more ideas than before. What do you thinK?

Interesting question. I remember writing a story for the 'Fallout' series of games just for enjoyment's sake, I loved the universe and the possibilities so much I didn't want the story to end after the story had ended ( if you see what I mean ).

If the game is as good as everyone is hoping I'm sure we'll see lots more fan fiction, particularly those stories that follow on after folk have found out how the game ends.

nah, I don't think so. Maybe Ian C here is a guy who have a job as a freelancer or a job that grants him a lot of free time, but I believe most of us here are students- we still need time to study ( don't need to mind those hippies). But hey, Ian C, go ahead and persue what you have in mind

I don't necessarily have a lot of free time, it's just that I may ration it differently compared to most other people. Quite a few spend their 'free' time watching t.v, playing video games, or perhaps becoming involved in sports, whereas I choose to spend it writing. Most of my time is spent mulling over storylines and concepts while doing other things, so when I do sit down at the keyboard it means that a fair ammount of the process has already been done ( although hammering things into a workable shape can take a while ).

The fact of the matter is if writing is something you enjoy doing then, if you're honest to yourself, you can find the time for it. It might be five minutes spent scribbling notes or a couple of hours used to a do a first draft, but when that time becomes available you've got to grab it - if you say you have no time, you will have no time.

I must admit, if you're a good student, you usually have more free time. Take a look at me, im a horrible student, its 21:00 and i haven't done any homeowork for monday... im totally screwed. And tomorow, monday, im going to have buttloads of homework. I really hate myself sometimes, but then i think about existence, and it doesn't matter anymore.

I've been writing 4 a long time now. Like Ian, I just enjoy writing, so I make time. It does depend on how busy I am, but usually I can find a few hours a week at least to write down some.

I also used to be a regular at an Interstate '76 / '82 site. Now thats an old game, but years later, people were still playing it, making skins and writing fanfic. It was too bad, they killed the site, before my semi-long story was finished (I did write 2 short ones), but it sure was fun. And so does, 4 example, Crimson Skies. There's still an active community playing it and even writing fanfic. Besides here, I'm also working on a fanfic based in that universe.

I think that the question of people writing stalker fanfic without a contest depends on how succesful, i.e. 'fun' a game is to play and how much it encourages anyones imagination. I do think there will be a lot less writers, because only the ones who like writing without an incentive will be left. And maybe that's not a bad thing either...

I know! I know! I'm sorry! I apologize. Ok, I apologize a thousand times. Well, I apologize a million times. Maybe I'll apologize an unfinite number of times. But not more, even I have my standards...

I cant tell you straight up, I write for fun. I write because I love to. I live the story. The story comes from my imagination and whatever inspired me.
