The time has come to go back and re-play SoC. And not to my surprise I realized that the textures in this need improvements as well. So instead of playing (or rather before that) I've started to make ATP for SoC.
Nature pack in this version will not have optional seasons to choose from. Instead of that all areas will have distinct look and you will see different foliage textures there.
For example, Agroprom and Warehouses are lush and green. Garbage and Bar looks desolated and have the autumn feel. Red Forest trees have the strange genetic mutation or disease that makes them reddish. Dark Valley looks like the same disease already spreaded there with everything started to rot. And Yantar is almost completely dead area.

Well, you have most likely gotten your COP one and renamed the files and then made textures for the ones which you already haven't.... but good job anyway.
Mostly yes, but I had to create more grass textures as, to my surprise, SoC have more variations than CoP. I've also created more dead trees and some color variations of those from CoP.
But the real advantage of this pack is that the same tree doesn't have the same texture in all areas. They vary depending on the area. For example dead bushes in Cordon have more leaves than those in Garbage and those in Yantar where there are no leaves at all.

Also, could you please check for me. The names of all the hardness levels for when you try and make a new game...
I know that the first is novice... but cant remember the others.. I cannot check myself cause the computer which I play the game on is fried and the computer I am using now has a broken CD drive -.-
As far as I remember they are Novice, Stalker, Veteran and Master but I'll check them later when I'm back home.

Yeah, he has worked hard on this mod as textures are pretty hard to get right. The hardest part is getting the colours just right for each section of whatever you are texturing.

Actually it's not completely true. The mod replaces level files in some levels/* dir. Those files hold info about shaders and textures used in the level. If those files have been changed in other mods they will not work together.
However you can choose not to install those level files from ATP. All you loose is that difference in the textures of each levels.

Looks awesome as usual Cromm, I was also thinking of firing up SHoC again since it's been a while, so this looks like perfect timing
The only issue I noticed in those screenshots is that the grass in Agroprom looks rather over-saturated. Everywhere else looks pretty much spot-on though.

I think thats what was turning me off SoC. Clear Sky's summer feeling is really in need in these days of snow.

Actually, the screenshots have been taken with SWO installed. The over-saturation might be as well a matter of shaders. Sky4CE in this case.
Well, its a texture mod so you can install it with any weather/shader mod you like.

Hmm, yeah I do recall having to dick about with the tonemap values when using Sky4ce shaders because the default settings tended to cause extreme contrast in places.
As far as weather mods go, I don't really know what's about at the moment as it's been ages since I've touched SHoC. My preference has always been for the more grim, dreary schemes rather than the bright summery feel. I'll take a look at SWO but are there any other ones about that I should try?

For now installation folder is 300MB but it holds 3 different tree texture size options. I guess the best quality option will have around 200MB after installation.

Those structures are simply perfected. With permission will you allow me to use this in my mod?
I won't even be able to work on it at the moment because the computer I had been making it on has fried but my dad is a computer mechanic so he can recover the stuff...

Absolute Nature and Absolute Structures are separate packs. Structures have some hi-res textures but not so many. And Nature comes with 3 quality options to choose. So if you choose 'Normal' you won't see a performance drop at all.

Yes, they are. In fact they determine what textures will be used on all objects so it is possible to replace every texture with something else.

I used some of the Argus' textures in my pack sharpening them. I haven't use his textures.ltx file that replaces some of the bump map associations.
Absolute Nature should work just fine. With Structures there could be some inconsistencies in bump maps. I recommend to install Structures and manually copy Photorealistic textures without overwriting.

Vehicle textures are taken from Argus' pack or Complete. I don't remember which one exactly.
You're right, it is the matter of preference. I prefer more saturated look of the Zone.
