Yeah, I've been robbed and it's a drag. When first starting this mod I lost a ton of stuff. I had no clue, but Pseudostomp helped me out tremendously. Seriously, without his and others' guidance I might have given up; I'm glad I didn't, though, as this is a truly amazing experience for STALKER fans.

I haven't used locks, but I know that whenever you access your stash, the last thing you must do is to re-set the lock. So the lock must be re-set each time.

I've put those portable rucksacks (500 ru from Akim--1000 from everyone else) up by the bell tower on the roof of the arena at the Bar and have never been robbed up there. I drop them up on the ledge that the wooden ramp leads to. You do have to be a little careful that when you hit 'use' that the stash/rucksack doesn't fall into the textures. Lots of saves and reloads to get it right sometime.

I forgot to recommend the bioradar, but you most definitely want to buy that from Sakharov--great gadget!

Now that sucks, but maybe it will motivate me to do less stashing, because it seems that 50% of time I do something related to stashes (moving, updating, taking etc). I just can't control myself.

Regarding your play style, that you went to duty after yantar, that means you skipped the mission that guard gives you to find something in the Forgotten Forrest so he can let you in?

I've tried to make sense from SNORK's site but got lost in all the clutter and don't know just what I should or should-not download. Any help would be nice, as I'd like to give this MOD a good try-out while waiting for TB to get his masterpiece in good working order. Thanks in advance guys... Gunso

1.Install stalker (fresh install)

2.Make sure you are running patch 1.005

Make sure you run the game at least once before install, idk if this counts but I always do this .

3.Download Achillesdave NS version

Do not just click on the link, right click on it and choose Save As, it will be saved as torrent file and then open it (make sure you have torrent software)

Then install the NS gamedata in your stalker folder.

4.Download DMX 1.3

Copy the DMX gamedata over the NS gamedata in your stalker folder. Copy DMX bin over stalker bin.

5.Download DMX 1.3.4

In the DMX 1.3.4 archive you will see some extra stuff, leave it alone, install only the main ("Патч 1.3.4" bin and gamedata over the ones you have in stalker.

6.Download boutch

Copy replace bin & gamedata. Copy & replace fsgame.ltx in your main stalker folder.
Open the fsgame.ltx with notepad
Instead of
$app_data_root$=true|false|C:\|Users\Public\Documents\STALKER-SHOC\
Have this : $app_data_root$=true|false|$fs_root$|STALKER-SHOC\

Copy Stalker-Shoc folder in to your stalker folder.

In the extra folder you have Atmosfear, I play without it. I just wanted less stuff to crash. Idk how reliable it is, I just wanted to be on the safe side. Your decision regarding this.

Important:
1.I think (from what I remember) for one of the archives that has multiple parts (maybe Achillesdave) you need to extract each part individualy -> test this!!!!!

2.You don't want limited bolts rename bolt_binder.script. "Same goes for xrs_grenade.script if you wanna disable the NPC's ultra-precise grenades"

3.The recoil is just insane, not very fun in my opinion. First play to see if you like the game like this, if not, I highly recommend Kocayne's weapon config (for me it's a must)

4.I had to do 2 or 3 fixes to make quest work. One of them is this "Go to your gameplay folder to tasks_new line 35. Arhra [or something like that] is misspelled. Should be arhara".
The other 2 I dont remember, when you have a crash check the log file
STALKER-SHOC/logs. See the error at the end of the file, search it on google and you will find a fix.

I have played it both ways. The first couple of playthroughs I did that job for Plitchko(?) at Duty (Oddly enough after giving him the artifact, he wandered off and later in the game, I ran into him again at Yantar, where he got killed by a mutant), but then had experienced crashes when going to WT.

After some reading, it was suggested that after the return from DV with the docs for Barkeep and getting the malfunctioning PDA/HUD working again, to go immediately to do the next series of Vanilla jobs. This seemed to work, as it didn't crash any more. Upon returning from WT and Yantar, X-16, I took the job to go north, gave Barkeep Kruglov's PDA to open the 'way' then went to Duty Headquarters. I had a bunch of extra 5.45 weapons that I sold to Petrenko, as he pays best for them.

I think this problem was fixed along the way, so you could certainly give it a try; that is, do his job before the Wt, etc.--Forgotten Wood is new and it's fun exploring new maps--it's kind of a bad neighborhood, though, buy, hey, there's lots of those in the Zone.

Plitchko does give a nice reward for retrieving the artifact from Forgotten Wood and completing that job gets you in to the Duty group before the having to do WT and Yantar.

The freezing I also think is from populating the map, the crashes sometimes don't refer to a certain error on the log, some I was to pissed to check because I knew it was from the all the lock moving (in, out of stash, an then after 1 min game crashes) and lately I have the [Error] File: E: \ stalker \ patch_1_0004 \ xr_3da \ R_DStreams.cpp witch I solved it 40% with decreasing visual distance.

It's sad that the more I play the crashes will get worse and worse. The only thing bad I do is stashes, but I can't live without them. I try to mantain the game clean by always putting stuff in corpses and not leaving them on the ground. We will see how things evolve.

I'm going to leave the Plichko artefact in a locked+gps stash at the bar, I am going to use after I finish Yantar, because I wanna avoid some "horror moments" and "emissions/blowouts" in my house from my gf who thinks I play to much

Are you playing with 1.004? The error reference above mentions 1.004--remember that the mod is for 1.005.

I got quite a few of these black screens, with a window telling me that the 'XR_3DA.exe has stopped working' which of course requires a force quit. Most of my crash logs were empty. I did have to replay sections, as I mentioned before, so hang in there if you can stand it.

The veteran STALKERS here also advise quitting the game for a while if you get too many crashes, screen freezes, etc. and they also advise keeping your task list manageable, not taking on too much at once.

You're aware of the obvious--try to avoid horror time (You can sleep through it, but not through blowouts.) in the underground maps and blowouts (underground) if possible. Harder to predict when that's going to happen. The map with the most bugs is the Labyrinth as saves in some places there get corrupted there pretty easily.

Unfortunately, these frustrating game crashes seem to be part of all of the Narodnaya Solyanka and its offspring. Hopefully, STALKERSOUP will, one day, minimize these problems.

Im playing 1.0005. Regarding the new version, now way I'm switching, I invested too many hours, I will continue with this. I'm curios though if he will realese a version for dmx 1.3.5, because this fixes some problems.

In this mod can I still be neutral to Freedom vs Duty War? Does the Fang quest from Voronin makes me an enemy to Freedom? Any quests that I should avoid to make sure I dont become an enemy to one of them?

The dialog with Freeman where the 2 bloodsucker spawn close to the bar is it necesary ?

None of the artefact detectors sold by sakarov work for me and does the portable radio has real use?There is a dialog with Sakarov and then he takes you psy-helmet and gives you an artefact...pretty weird...
