wow the single player SDK is taking on an almost mythical property. It isn't going to make modding supremely easy guys, at best it'll give us access to the core game code, some control over how game assets are processed (models maps etc) and a better tool for making maps.
It isn't going to be some kind of app where you just check boxes and click buttons to pump out awesome mods. I applaud the russian modding community for getting stuck in and doing it, instead of crying into their pillows how it's all so hard without an SDK.
We're actually blessed to be able to do so much without an SDK. most game engines if you don't have any source code you're pretty much boned. Just be glad we're not in that position.
