No vehicles?

I read on a site, that in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. vehicles will be cut because the dev team can't figure out the interactions with anomalies while being in a vehicle.
My question is: IS THIS TRUE?!

If no, nevermind this, but if yes, please dont say that! Vehicles are a very important role in this gameplay when being on a large area (the zone I mean) like that. It would ruin lots of fun and experience. If the only problem really is with anomalies, then I have a suggestion.
In movies where strange things happen the cars, trucks etc. only stop when they are close to something. I know this is non-sence, but think about it.. STALKER is about lots of strange things, and I easily can imagine a car just stop when its too close to an anomaly. In my opinion it's not too hard to add, and the vehicles could also be saved that way.

Well if that theory of vehicles are being cut is not true, then just forget what I said, but please think about it if its true.

My best regards to the dev team!

Oops, sorry, my bad.

I meant drivable vehicles would be a sad thing to be cut.

The reasons developers took out the vehicles are stupid ones at that.
The vehicle code will still be left for modders to use so that modders can put vehicles into the game again.
GSC thought that driving vehicles was too "dangerous"...not that the zone isn't a dangerous place anyway, and that the player will take many harsh and stupid risks...The vehicles in the game were working long long ago, and probably had just as much realism to the way they were handled than a proper racing game.

I personally dislike their reasoning, they took away a decision that the player could make, because they thought it would be too risky and dangerous, they said that it's too easy to get caught in anomolies in your vehicle...

That is stupid, if the player wasnt to drive, he should be able to drive, and he should also learn that there is a risk to driving around in the zone, but the devs took it out, so bummer to that...just wait for someone to put vehicles back in the game again..it shouldnt be took long after release that, this will happen.

I'm with Natace on this one.

Even if the risk is high, the player should have the option. I mean.. hey, you're still totally free to try to melee a bloodsucker, too

Without vechiles how am i going to get from one side of the map to the other ... Seriously am i suppose to run all of it? And if i'm not mistaken there is no real good people in STALKER so i wouldn't wanna hitch a ride with some guy Might end up having a ugly encounter. I wonder how they compensated it.

I've come to the conclusion that they took out the vehicles because the game would be too easy. Imagine taking an apc and simply bowling over military checkpoints or stalker encampments. I think this is the reason they took out the vehicles. Luckily with mods we'll be able to put in sleeping, vehicles, and random blowouts, hopefully.

Or a patch would also be apprechiated, with drivable cars included, or players could check in the options if they want to use cars or not.

Well... APC's wouldnt be too fair thats true.. but I really wanna ride around the zone in a Niva, those cars rock!

And I agree... "risky are dangerous" reason stinks

I'm also behind Natae. If driving is dangerous, then let the players find that out for themselves. Maybe add some NPC's that would warn the player of the dangers of driving in a form like: "You know I had a friend called Taras who really liked to drive a Moskvich around the zone, but one day..."

As for it beeing to easy with an APC - who said it would be easy to find a working APC in the game? Maybe to get an APC one would have to battle an entire fortified military outpost?

All in all: Its good to hear that it will be still "MODable", maybe some talented moders will be able to bring back some soviet era cars back to life. Having a drive in a Lada, Volga, Trabant or the Fiat126p would certainly be something new in a computer game.

I think fair enough a APC would make the game abit easy but you could make them really hard to drive? or just have one and you have to go to loads of difffrent places to get the parts and they spawn randomly? This would make the effort of doing so worth it? and well other thing would be is that:
A. VERY VERY VERY FUN FUN FUN(little cars all the way!!! )
B. I really don't think I could be arsed to back track half the map because I forgot to do something.
C.You really got my hopes up and if they are coming out of the game get them off the site!!!!!!!
