Reloding

the creators could add some fun by making the clips like in swat4(you just put a new clip in the gun not put new ammo in the same clip)so it would be more realistic to put all that ammo in those 5 or 6 clips to be ready for the next encounter(of course it can be boring as well to some people so im only speaking for myself that it would be fun)

Sounds it could be a cool idea... but I can't really understand what you say because you don't punctuate. Please try to make your grammar at least legible. I'm sure lots of what you are saying is being torched by the difficulty I'm having reading what you write.

This idea gives me warm fuzzies. I like the idea of being able to shuttle
clips rapidly midgame, with the risk of reloading with a partial if I forget to
reload the clips to capacity in an idle moment.

Just a little something to keep one a little extra ware.

I hope they make an animation for feeding new bullets into a clip. Imagine the drama doing that in the midst of battle!

Always having to look after your clips adds to the feeling alot. I think one of the minor things that made HL1 better than HL2 was that HL2 had autoreload when you didn't use the weapons.

Does it?
I don't remember it, but it's maybe my memory hole or I have reloaded the weapon immediatelly after using it.
Heh. It's funny that I haven't discovered it yet.

And to speak about the care about magazines, it will add another bit to realism. I am good with that, but many of my friend hated "SWAT" reloading, because they shooted few bullets and immediately reloaded the weapon, and then started to swear, because they threw away nerly full magazine. And if you have only five magazines it is nothing good.

Of course my friend are my friends and I want "SWAT" like reloading in the game, so ..... dev team make it that way....

Dunno, I've also though quite some times about this idea, and indeed it adds a lot of realism, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has a pretty realistic aim, but I think this takes it a little to far, and it'll go of the cost of the gameplay experience.

I'm pretty sure any experienced gamedevolper discussed this and though it was a birght idea it first though, but there are very few cases where it actually made it into the game, and I'm pretty sure a dev. team as GSC who is fond of realism has already though about this.

Counting the shots

Will there be a meter that indicates how many rounds you fired.
In SWAT thet was pretty realistic.I had to count your rounds.
maybe if your last bullet (when u full the mag it's the firs round) is tracer you will now when to reload.

I think that is more important the constant speed of reload animation. I hate that in battllefield 2. There speed was same no matter if someone is shooting at you or u are distant from the fight. (to see the mag of ak flip in the air- that was really stupid).

for the devs is just not worth making the reloading time dynamic just to make things a lil more real. it is a game after all.

I think they should put as much detail they possibly can into this game. Details are nice and often make a game last a bit longer, or a whole lot longer (Baldurs Gate 2 which did entirely consist of details is a good example).

I mean; all this time...

I can understand detail but there are some things that people will get pissed off at thats "real life." A good example is on GTA: San Andreas with the Hunger-Meter that went off every half hour (for me anyways). That's life, yet it's also annoying. There's just certin details that shouldn't be emplimented into the game, such as the dynamic reload. Wouldn't it suck that right in a firefight you "accidently" drop a fresh magazine out of sheer adrenaline-powered fear?

Are you simply stating a fact or are you actually implying you wouldn't mind this "feature" in the game?

I would love that.

But not if it was common, like it happened all the time or you went around worrying for screwing up when reloading.

I can understand a slightly longer reload, but I don't wanna have to worry about dropping a magazine at a random time.

That's MO too.
Maybe the length of reloading could be dynamic (changing).

To me it looks just as same as mag. dropping.
It will add some realism, but increase the difficulty, and sometimes it will make you angry.

Jesus, if too many features like this are included the tutorial will take a week to get through, or maybe there will be a "S.T.A.L.K.E.R training weekend." I'm all for realism, but there is a point where it becomes too complicated and narrows the market. this is over that point imo.

Oh, lordy, you guys have no idea how much I love reload animations. If done well, they can be so satisfying. And hey, I loved BF2's reloading! I admit the AK clip swap was cheesy, but mostly because it was 2 clips taped together, but they play the same animation for all 4 reloads you carry : .

But anyway, games like HL2 and FEAR made me mad how unrealistic the reloads were. In FEAR, they might as well have taken them out and just had a big ammo reserve like the original FPS's (Doom, DN, ect.) I think STALKER would benefit from longer, detailed reloads since the action doesn't seem as frantic as other games, more tactical and real.

By the way, the first game that I've seen with great reloads was Perfect Dark for the N64. So much better than Goldeneye...

The gameplay is heavily based on CS. Expect a lot in common with CS... ie.. not tactical or real.
