You produce a 6 mm hole in someone and that's what you see.. I suppose the majority of gore in the game would come from the predatory mutants eating stalkers.

you obvoiusly haven't seen how terrorists torture russian soldiers with the ak 47 they shoot into live targets from short distance into the face or maybe the nerve centers and where the bullet hits a huge hole appears or if the nerve situation it cuts everything in it's way until the hand is no longer controlable and that should give lots of pain to the victim

I want all enemies explode when i hit them with my minigun. Becurse the pressure the bullets make to their bodies... And when i knife a stalker i should see their cuts swelling out, when i stabbing them in their torsos... When i shooot a 9mm in their heads. I should see pieces of their brains fly out behind them on the walls or ground...

I still play SOF2 online, my all time favourite online multiplayer game. (Arms fall off, feet gets torn apart, head gets blown off)... Effects that is missing from HL2, Q4, etc.... Only F.E.A.R had something similar: Head can be blow off by shotgun.... If you ask me this is a stepback in gaming technology!

If you could make this happen in stalker multiplayer then I (and many other sof-alike gore lovers) would be very happy.

In SOF2, ravensoft had their own "hitbox" system in the models itself, called "GHOUL2". I guess in SOF1 they used "GHOUL".

Here's what I wanna see in STALKER, as far as blood and gore :
1) Soldier of Fortune 2 aspects
2) FEAR system, where we can shoot off limbs
3) Gears of War Style blood, which actually has properties similar to other liquids, such as water. It is transparant and looks thick, not too "liquidy."

The blood should stain surfaces.

If STALKER should be realistic it has to be a LOT of gore in it.
For example a shot in the head by a 5.56mm weapon doesn't create a small head and some blood, it removes the head...
So, if STALKER is going to be realistic you have to add a LOT of gore.
If the gore was done properly then the game would be violent and still worth playing.
But, if it was made like the gore in the movie "Braindead" or "Bad taste" (Both Peter Jacksson movies), you would laugh at the game and find it more like some kind of joke.

On the other hand, STALKER isn't very realistic (that DOESN'T mean that the game is bad), because of the zombies, mutants etc in it.
So maybe STALKER should focus on the story, the creatures, the enviroments etc instead of focusing on much gore.

I have to admit that I would like to shoot my enemies into pieces, seeing them crawl on the ground leavnig blood-trails after them.

1. A 556 rounds to the head would NOT remove your head from your torso. (from left side anterior to front side postirior) It creates about a 1/2 inch entry wound with a 1 inch temporary wound channel that expands through its target to usually create a 3-4 inch exit would. Bone fragments are a bitch.

2. A battle field doesent become very gory until people start playing with explosives. Normal rounds (.223, .308, 7.62, 5.45) will create little 1/4th to 1/2 inch holes in people and 1-2 inch exit wounds. Your organs arent going ot be leaking out through those holes. There will be bleeding, however not as much shown in modern games. That being said blood tends to get more soaked up in clothing than spilling out onto the ground.
