Advanced Cooperation.

I'm personaly a person who likes teamplay, realism, and teamplay and realism with your friends. I would think it would be awesome if I can play this game coop wise with a few friends. Sneak in, do the business and get out. My question is, in which ways will this be possible?

I hope it will be possible to keep a character and progress with it singleplayer wise and or multiplayer wise and keep the stuff and exp you earned.

Anyone know more detaills? What do you think?

there will be no skills. But there will be your way skills.

like. 8 different once. like your a stalker that barches in the party and killing them all. or mabe your a stalker that sneacks and shots like splintercell. or mabe u helped alot and u heald alot and stuff. or mabe you were a mutant hunter that helps stalker drive the raid mutants away. or. ur a dealer your self. or mabe your a wanted guy for evry body. u give lots of danger to stalkers and u do both barching and sneaking.

From what I've experienced Single Player coop is the better of the two.

Yeah I agree on that; I hope that we can play SP Coop (with savegames), or characters which you can take in and out of games, with your gear etc. Hope pings will be nice in SP coop too .

Yeah, it be cool to be able to save group games with freinds and come back to them when you and you mates have the time again to play. It will depend on if they allow small user severs setups or isalated pocket worlds.

Did anyone actually answer the first question that was asked? I mean it's quite a valid point and I don't think any of the threads answered it, not to irritate anyone, but if it was answered or I misread it I'm sorry.

What I got from the title post was "Is this game going to be coop like System Shock 2, Starlancer or is it goign to be like Rage of Mages 2, Sven Co-op and that type."

E.g. Does coop for Stalker mean playing the single player through with one or more friends or like Fallout Tactics, the same engine but a TOTALLY different type of coop on small levels. From what I've experienced Single Player coop is the better of the two.

Note: I am not asking anything about the nature of RPG or insight into the human psyche

lol

Nice one "headhunter", i seen "The Two Towers" too....now all we need is a short tempered drawf to be on our side and were laughting! ;p

What if you could have twenty or more players as soldier stalkers (heck, normal stalkers would do!!) in a remote outpost in the zone. The we could do "Zulu Dawn"!!

A Sentry on gaurd duty is looking over the main gate when a nova is seen speeding towards the compound at high speed. "Sir, incoming scout" shouts the the gaurd switching his rifle's safety off. Out of the building below other stalkers come out running with their rifles at the ready.

"what is it" ask one, "Bob's Nova" came another. "who's the hell Bob" came some one eles. Just then the gate opens and the nova starts breaking as soon as its through the gates. Quickly the gates are closed and locked.

"Bob, Bob, what happened!" cried the stalker closet to the car. Bob was not in a good way and yell outs "Tall plant like creatures, hunders of them, coming this way". "targets all around, too many to count" screams the lookout in pure panic.

"Ok, people, break the big guns out, if you got rockets, use them!" cries a vet stalker.............

yeah...
here a funny scene in co-op:

You and your buddy just parked the UAZ-469, quit it and see a corpse and suddenly hear strange noises. via means of communication you ask your buddy: "what the hell was that?". he says, oh no, look over there, 8 o clock, hundreds, thousands of dwarves (hehe, LoTR orcs scene ) approaching us. at once you go back to the UAZ-469. your friend tries to start the engine, doesnt work, you shout: "hey, mr. wizard, get us the hell out of here". hundreds of dwarves still approaching, still you've not driven off. then, after some seconds you hear the sound of the engine and shoot with the chain gun (fixed on the UAZ-469) at the dwarves croud whereas your friend tries to save your as**s!...

I like the idea of co-op playing, just think of the fun that can be had with vechiles. you could be driving while the other player is acting as shotgun, cover both your asses with heavy fire power when under attack.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, it would be awesome to have areas where two or more players working together would be a big advantage. Or gear the engine to create on the fly events where you and your mates snuddenly come attack from a large hoard of zombies and you need to get to safety pretty quickly as your outnmbered too much. you and one of the others players will be laying down cover fire tying to buy the third player the time to hotwire transport so all three of you can hot tail it out of there.

just a few ideas!!
