Does This Still Crash A Lot?

I tried playing Lost Alpha for the first time a couple of years ago and got all the way to Pripyat before getting fed up with the constant crashing, which at that point seemed to happen every time I tried to use a vehicle, but since the game has had some updates since then, I was wondering if it still has the same issue with crashes or not? Thanks for any responses.

It's horses for courses and may be machine dependent, so suck it and see.
The current official release is v1.4005 (LA Developer's Cu*t) Sometimes erroneously referred to as the "Director's Cut".

Some annoying bugs have been fixed and a whole lot more introduced just to keep you on your toes. There's a list of bugz and whoopsies around here somewhere, but judging from the activity on this thread, most have moved on for pastures new...

There's also some sort of bugfix / addon / modpack that gives it a quick paintjob to the fuggy as buck v1.4005 release. Judging by the current interest on its ModDB thread, it is also seemingly losing popularity ..

Exploiting 1.4007 DC as best as I can. I will NEVER, EVER use a "cheat pack" - a game lives or dies on its gameboard. Best of luck, stalker...

Don't listen to someone who clearly hasn't played it, and only read some comments.

It's definitely quite stable right now, no game breaking bugs, in my recent full playthrough I only crashed once or twice.

Grab the dlc, and you're good to go.

Generally good advice, but if the snark was directed at me for making a reply to the OP, then perhaps you might also read the footer to my reply.

As currently released (v1.4005) it has serious issues that have been documented variously on this forum. I wish it were otherwise, but it is what it is.

So basically, you need to patch it in some way for the release to be playable?
