---QUOTATION--- So a car is less a luxury, more a necessity. Getting a bit fed up with hoofing it everywhere already - LA maps are big - but I can't afford a car yet. Still, Darkscape soon, and I'm hoping some of the freebie cars were left in.
There's been NO change in the free car situation for the whole map. The ultra-crappy, shafted-torsion bar 'hospital service Niva' works much better than in some early LA versions. Ignore it. Do a "runner" at walking pace. That damn Niva is only any good for opening the Darkscape gate, which you can ram later.
The MilRaid on the MonoBase has been tweaked.
Keep your head down. Don't be in a hurry. Liberate an RPG for later.
Damned controllers are supposed to mess with your mind, not put you through some disco-lit exercise routine.
There is a 'Dez0wave' trademark of sorts. Happened in Priboi and it happens in LA - hunger bar full, thirst bar two thirds full plus seven hours sleep equals dead. How do you die of thirst in seven hours in a place as soggy as the Zone?
That gets you dead every time @ 7hrs kip (although your consideration for your Actor verges on anthropomorphism and is commendable - it's only a sprite!)
There are bugs "with the rocks" - both intentional (compared with v1.3003)
AND real bugs that get you dead very quickly.
If you let your actor sleep with "Health" negative arts (Stone Flowers, etc) and there are not enough "good health" arts (Soul, Meat chunk, Rock, Flame, etc) - your health will dwindle away.
(Possibly, maintaining health also has a disproportionate need for fluid intake, but atm jury is out)
Wearing the Cake art tells you that something is SNAFUed with the 'health' parameter - you never need to eat again...
Wearing a Sauron's eye kills you in seconds..

The levels remain as fraught for driving as ever.
A car is more of a mobile stashwagon.
Unfortunately, the more you stuff in, the higher the latency becomes - inadvertent errors take place (knife, binocs, sleepingbag, ARMOUR get accidentally 'stashed')
Obviously, Warehouses, Dead City, Radar and Countryside are easy drives.
Pripyat? Not so much.
I'm more into locating "running assistance". Then working around both options.

Nimble s.n.a.f.u.
---QUOTATION--- I don't quite understand why Nimble has a job that involves travel over several maps. He always manages to find a way to die very early in SoC and LA. Why isn't he one of the 'immortal' characters? I took his job, but he was dead in the tunnels where I first found him when I got back. It got me the 5.45 Groza, but I'd have liked to see what the next task was.
I don't understand why he wasn't made to return to the village and stay there. Either that, or make ALL task-giving NPCs immortal.

Get in the queue.
I shall not detail his run-around missions. You were unfortunate that he died so early. Most people have a gripe about him getting 'fidgety' or 'tunnel-struck' or just plain broken.
Theoretically, the idea is that you kill pig herds, stab dog packs and maybe rid the occasional flesh so that he has an easy run to his radioactive house.
At which point you "do business"..
It quickly gets old.
(I just delivered a spanking SS-100M suit to him for "hamburger Tuesday" and was playing 'pass the polt brain' with Sid, when a blowout struck. Naturally, twit-Nimble pegged out. Obviously payment is deferred indefinitely. IF this happens, your first order of business should be to get to him asap after the blowout and loot him for most of what you delivered..)
But I found a nice dodge to leave junk behind: the safe in Dead City where you 'Find your Equipment' now has the dumb brain scanner, the x14 key and Wolf's wagon key (yeah - he died too)
Generally, I agree that these NPCs should have some form of immunity. Mostly they DO. It's just badly coded and ends too soon.
The cretinous "Paulie the Stew" (I kid you not) CAN survive in a blowout in a woolly jumper. In the open. I know this to be an absolute FACT. You find him in an unprotected house on a level with about 3 shelters.
