Finished up with my bandit play through. Definitely more fun than playing as a Loner. Loads more spawning Loners means more action and also more looting opportunities. Will probably return to Lost Alpha for a play through or two once DC is out. Looking at playing Call of Chernobyl next. Here are some final pictures with the Bandits.

Since there was no decent stash boxes in the Bandit base I instead opted to liberate the derelict vehicles scattered throughout the zone to store my loot in.

All bandits at the base were given basic necessities such as a sleeping bag, atleast 2 items of food, a medkit or a bandage and an anti-rad.

Remarks ~
- If you want to play as a bandit you'll have to wait until the first time you enter Dark Valley and are assigned the quests in that area. I played the 99% of the game in the bandit jacket (exo for heavy loot carrying), it was just easier. If you remove the suit and leave Dark Valley your faction will become Stalker. However the bandit suit can be removed once the Dark Valley is left, you'll still be apart of the Bandit faction and, as a result all bandits in the game show a friendly relationship status. Be warned if you remove the bandit jacket anywhere near the base you will be fired upon.
- The Stalker relationship is constantly self-correcting, obviously to prevent major game breakage. You can kill most Stalkers even ones that are related to the story-line without too much trouble. After a while Stalker relations will return to neutral.
- Great Metal Factory prior to the Merc raid can be highly useful for loot. Two groups of stalkers are present (one near the entrance and another toward Arnie's office). These groups will occasionally spawn an Exo Expert carrying AS Val. Arnie will most likely attack you if you attack the group near his office. Make sure you finish the Arena first before you start the fun. Arnie will still appear as a secret trader later in the game if you decide to kill him.
- Keep in mind you will not be able to complete some quests. Ones that will result in your relationship with the bandits irreversibly downgraded to enemy. 'Steal the bandit documents','Free the Dutyer','Steal the documents for Sin' are ones that I noticed. This will break the Sin part of the storyline. The game can be progressed from this point by exploiting the Construction site/Lake Yantar transition (jumping through).
- Taking Hunter's mission 'Return the Rifle' and stealing aforementioned rifle won't negatively affect bandit relation.
- When I entered Radar for the first time I came from the Dead City. The roadblock guard was paid (instead of the Captain). This resulted in the Captain becoming hostile to me. "Meet the Patriarch" was never issued since the Captain was dead, as a result this can avoid any trouble with the monoliths even past the CNPP.
- I ended up killing Hermit and as a result got stuck with the quest active. This can be avoided by waiting for stalker relations to normalize. If killed, to continue with the game collect the Psi headgear from the underground and head to X10, this will trigger the necessary quests required to advance.
- Deedee's bunker can be accessed by removing the Bandit Jacket in Dark Valley (a safe distance from the Bandit base) and driving to the Lost Factory. Once your identity is verified you can return to Dark Valley, don the Bandit jacket and return to the bunker as a bandit. You won't be locked out.
- Keeping more loot rather than selling it (and accumulating massive amounts of cash) is probably how I advanced to the generators and free-play. Keep this in mind if you desire a 'good' ending.
- If you play using the bandit jacket for the duration of the game remember to save often as it provides very little protection.
- Stash coordinates can be "encouraged" to give themselves up. Once you've killed a group of enemies, save the game. DON'T loot the corpses before saving. If you reload the game you just saved theres a much better chance you'll get some stash coordinates off the dead bodies. In some circumstances, bodies (loot and all) may disappear once you reload the game. I've been unable to pinpoint an outlying factor for this so be warned.
Thanks and I hope you enjoyed the pictures
Bless the rookie bandit
