I've been quiet a) because I'm trying to get on with my own story and b) because I don't have much to add.|
The introduction of Doomsday and his group was interesting, but then it has all been, from the 'fleshing out' of the Monolith soldiers to the tension between Duty and Freedom (and their ongoing plans and agendas even in the face of a shared enemy/problem).
One thing that did seem a bit far-fetched (or 'Hollywood-ized') was the escape from the zombies...but it also provided a lighter 'episode' with some comic relief, so overall it was no bad thing. Have to say Enigma is doing very well for someone who was at least halfway to being dead, though.
As for other stuff...it's not for me to tell you the direction your story *should* take. I'm along for the ride and will go where thou willst, so to speak. But you also have hints above regarding what I liked and what I found less interesting (not the right word, but my brain's not working well this morning. It's what happens when the cat decides to up-end the Chrimbo tree at four a.m.).
What do I think will happen? Well, there'll be deaths of favourite, but not exactly central, characters (or the way you've set it up, perhaps even central characters can 'buy the farm'); many more scrapes; a lot more tension between the factions; and a resolution where the Russian commander either mutates or is killed by mutants...or perhaps where he is mutating and is killed by mutants for being 'too human'.
