Installed this over a clean 1.0004.

Having to run out of a mutant filled lab w/o a gun is annoying.

I get to the lab exit where there is a stalker. If I try to leave the lab the game CTD's. If I edit the script to fix the CTD (dereferencing a nil variable, put a if ~= nil check around it) then when I leave the lab I instantly die.

The stalker offers to take me to cordon for a fee, if I pay the fee when I get to cordon I cannot control the actor at all (no keys have any effect except escape). If I save the game in cordon and reload the game CTD's. Tried all 3 spots he'll take you to and same problem, no control of the actor when I arrive and saves CTD on load.

Anyone got this to be playable?

Hi Olivius, I have the same issue as Rangda, no keyboard/mouse function after the lab. Tried old Xr3da, old user.ltx no luck. I didn't see this issue raised on the French forum, perhaps you could ask there for us? The lab looked great, really hoping to get this playable, thanks!

This mod's scripts are horribly broken. Not sure how it's working for anybody, perhaps the vanilla scripts are different for the international version of stalker.

Anyway to get character control back edit guiders.script, look for this:

function off_input(time)
set_inactivate_input_time(time)
end

comment out the set_inactivate_input_time like this:

function off_input(time)
--set_inactivate_input_time(time)
end

The script is trying to disable input for the fade out/fade in when you travel via a guide but somehow it never enables input again.

However that won't help. Once I did that I could play OK until I saved and reloaded, at which point I got yet another CTD. This one was in the script that makes the ammo clips work, not sure exactly what it was doing but I didn't spend a lot of time looking at it.

I've also had some CTD's on map load for the actor object being null which is pretty crazy, the only thing I can think of is that they've somehow got their scripts firing before the actor object gets created.

I did get to play for a bit. Once you get to town you get a mission from sid to find a knife in town then go into the boarded up house to get him some stuff that is supposed to be in there. The mission updated as complete at some point while I was wandering around town (a zombie spawned somehow and I think that is what did it). I finished the mission anyway, when you break the boards down several zombies /w guns spawn all around you.

Next mission after that is rescuing Nimble (they changed the back story a bit but the mission is the same). Except that whenever you kill a bandit it spawns a civilian zombie (random type, got a ghost one, couple of regular ones, and one that exploded). At this point the game went wonky on me, I couldn't find any more bandits but all the stalkers were acting like a bandit was still there. Tried reloading and that when I discovered I cannot load any Cordon game saves.

Many of the dialog strings are broken, you get the sprintf style substitution strings instead of actual text. In a few places it made the mod unplayable.

This is totally not ready to be actually played IMO, and even if it was, I find all the zombie and mutant spawns quite silly (it seems more like a parody of stalker than stalker) and it would not be a mod I'm interested in.

I used the torrent to get the game, perhaps the multi-part download is a later version and works better?

Thanks for the reply rangda, I used the torrent version as well. I have seen Russian video on Youtube of actual playthroughs and it does seem over the top but maybe a bit of fun. I will try the separated downloads out of curiosity. Peace.

Hoping we can correct all you mentionned.
I have a russian version,and follow the video i remember play quest up an artifact seach bugged and crash game.

I reread the message of Rangda and I also remember having had problems in the Russian game with save that I can't reload...
I could do missions Sido but it was better not die because often the save was not reloaded ... the only way I found was to change level to create an autosave and that it worked ...
May be it is still the same ...
