Any scope mods out there?

I would really like finding a scope mod that adds new scopes to the game
For example: Holographic sight, Kobra sight and the Red Dot sights. It feels kinda dull playing with the Susat and PSO-1 ALL the time.

Autumn Aurora 2 has a scope add-on, which lets you choose between misery, gnomus, and absolute scopes, shouldn't be too hard to implement into any other mod or vanilla game.

If you just mean the static texture overlay that shows up when aiming with scope, there are quite a few mods doing so, Gnomus is probably the most popular of them.

However if you'd like to have something more dynamic, an addition that "brings the scope to life", you better stick with some mod that incorporates scripts and/or shaders to achieve effects like flickering, lens distortions, infrared or night vision etc. (see my signature )

With this I take you want a variety in scope models, not texture overlays or visual effects?

The answer is short: There isn't a mod that incorporates different scopes for 1 model in SHoC, because it's an engine limitation. This is only possible in CS / CoP, due to the different scope attachments you're able to use.

I get where you would think this but it's not totally correct.
Yes only CS and COP use multiple scope types per weapon, but you can hack in an infinite amount of scope types and holographic sights if you use a method similar to the one in Shoker weapons mod for COP.

It's just a matter of someone writing up a script that does the switch between weapon models when they choose a certain scope type.

I have no idea why no one has done this in SHOC yet as the community still seems very active, especially compared to CS.

I think the SHOKER mod would suit SOC better than CS and COP because it does not have weapon upgrades which had to be removed for SHOKER (Unless they've fixed that with the newer version of SHOKER).

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I've implemented this in ZoA to allow weapons to equip different scopes with varying levels of night vision integrated. So it's definitely possible, but a real hassle to get working smoothly (or maybe I'm just not that great at scripting ).
On top of that, red dot and reflex sights are awkward to do properly, because any weapon with an attachable scope removes the weapon model and uses a flat texture overlay, which isn't really appropriate for those types of sight. That's why the majority of mods with Kobra sights have them non-detachable; the only alternative is to make it technically a grenade launcher, which comes with its own set of issues.
