Contest end date?

In the contest conditions it says the story has to be sent in before 31-12-03.
Is this still official? Or is it still on?

Also, i think its been mentioned here before, would there be any interest in a homepage for Stalker Fanfiction? No contests, prizes of anything, just alot of stories to read when not playing the game

Wow, I would love a homepage dedicated to stalker stories, this setting just cries out to be told in thousands of ways.
I think the deadline is over, although, you can try to negoiate your way with GSC over Email, now that may not work.

Well i guess ill send it in if i do finish it just in case they accept it.

You are so true in your worlds. The stalker setting can (and should) be told in so many ways. And, as this contest has shown, there is great writing skills within the community and such a website isnt at all unresonable.

It would of course serve as a general community site too with gamenews, file hosting, forum and such, but its main focus would be Stories and to help the player "feel" the world of Stalker, not just play and see it.

Its an original idea for a community site but I, for one, would be a regular visitor.

Sorry I came in late. Yes, there might be a very faint glint of hope. So far, my specultion is that the Devs are tackling the long stories (like mine and ChanSD5 ), which really explains why the newly posted (I meatn around end of January) was quite short (and lousy ) ). Yup, sent your entry, make a nice email to be sent to atem@gsc-gameworld.ua ( I forgot about the address, but get the domain from the website) , and maybe you might get thru. Hope it helps a lot.

to the second opinion, I don't think that was really a good idea. Why? Most of us did join the contest with winning the game partly in our mind (I am sure this was the case with me, Goodspeed and Midnight Rambler and almost all the writers. Don't knwo much about Ian C and Nauris Krauze though). Also, even if you do make such a website, it would be quite hard for the general population to access them, and I haven't say anything about giving the review...

So amoki, GSC reads the stories, picks a quote, and THEN posts it?

Or does it work like GSC just post the stories at random and reads it all at the end.

hard to tell... but I know they will read All of the stories in the end. My hypothesis is that they work by 'natural-selection' (spare me of the Darwin Crap!)- shortest come first, longest go last. That practicaly explain why those posted are really short (in my honest opinion, lacked quality), but the 'big guns' are still in camouflage, literally

Now, anyone can come out with a way so that whenever I log in into the forum on weekends, all I see is a list of 'amoki' at the back? Muahahahaaaaa . Maybe Pepsi should be banishing me out of the GSC forum.

u know, a website for the stories isnt hard to make actually...
All its there for is to list stories for users to read..

Sure, most ppl wrote stories with intention of winning a copy of the game, no doubt....
But i still think we would see a few more stories after the contest ends...

Having my first story (The Nigh End; Part 1) posted made me ecstatic all by itself, even though they spelled my name wrong but still having my story up on here makes me happy all in all even if my story isn't good enough to make it to a top 10.

Plus the stories of other authors here, wow great stuff really.

Okay, I looked at the page for the literary contest (didn't actually realize it before)...

I've heard on here that the December 31st, 2003 deadline was changed...is that right? Because on the site it's still there.

I think someone said the rating system had been removed (it to is obviously still there)...I know amoki said in the stickied thread it might be worth it to send in my story (when it's done)...but I've got some doubts after checking that site - or maybe they just never update it.

I think I'll have to read the Nigh End...it's got a pretty good rating (I checked one but it had this capitalized stuff everywhere and....bleh.
