Traders and Inventory System

So for the most apart I am really enjoying the game. However this one aspect is really just killing a lot of the fun for me and turning things from enjoyable to frustrating.

Traders - Where are these guys? They are few and far between. Most dont have much substance to their inventory and are just so rare to find. While all players will trade with you, most will only trade for certain things, none of which are guns or weapons. So the game really needs more traders and lots of them. Even if their job is to simple buy from you rather than selling to you. At least 1 trader should be in EACH zone!

Inventory - 50 pounds!!! Is this a joke? IRL soldiers carry about 100 pounds total standard! I mean for me in game, I have clothes, some healing supplies, my main gun, pistol, ammo, and I am MAXED out in wieght with no room for anything new!

Storage - To add insult to injury with the 50 pound issue and lack of traders, you have absolutly no way to store items to follow you through the game. Even Diablo gave you a magic crate that would follow you around from base to base. Fallout gave you a hummer which you could truck enough equipment to fill a warehouse. We just need something that we can store our extra ammo, guns, artifacts, medical stuff, and etc which is within reasonable reach.

To solve the storage issue, I suggest either magic crates or a vender who works like a bank. You can trade him any items that he will hold for you. Where ever one of these vendors are, you can get your items back. There should be at least 1 in EACH zone.

These are really some of the most frustrating things about the game and I hope that you guys will fix it soon in a patch. Throw us a bone here please!

And that woudl make STALKER a survival horror game how? The zone is a harsh place, your meant to be scraping ammo etc to live - not have some wagon or magic crate following you around - this isnt HL2or any "regular" FPS!

Survival Horror? This is more like an FPS with RPG elements. Not freaking Resident Evil or some crap like that. There is a lot of action here and a lot of equipment to be picked up.

The zone is still a harsh place but we need better inventory managment and trading.

I don't have the game so I may be wrong but I believe that the carrying capacity for your character is 50 kg, not 50 lbs. When you convert 50 kg to lbs you get 110 lbs so that meets what you said (however how the weight of the objects are factored in, I don't know so the inventory system may still be flawed). And about the magic boxes, I believe there are stashes you can leave your stuff, I saw some people posting about it in previous threads. However the difference between STALKER and diablo2 is that the stashes don't magically follow you around where-ever you go, its only in that one place you left it.

Right, it is where you left it but there are no good central points and the map is huge! It could take me an hour or more just to get back to my stash or find a trader... especially with the low weight carry factor which makes walking anywhere a pain. Sucks the fun right out of this game really.

Nice comment, really helpful.

I guess I am in the minority here on this one. Oh well, I wont be playing this game until they fix this. If not then I will tell you guys where to find my copy at a pawn shop soon.

WOW, another helpful comment. Must make you guys feel big trying to cut down people who you do not agree with. Too many fan boys here for me.

If the game is meant to make inventory worthless with no trading then that is fine. This is not the game for me and since I can not get my money back then I will simply pawn the game and move on. Too bad, this game really could have been good but with mindless fan boys who do not provide honest feedback and stifle decent, then the game will never get better.

Good day people.

didn't see this be mentioned, so here I go:

there are crates you can use to store stuff in, that are Never used for anything else.

first is by the trader where the game starts. to the left of the door, opposite of the three lockers.

second is in the bar, in open sight.

third is in the mobile science outpost. in the room next to the head scientist/trader.

I generally keep all special weapons I find in there, as well as all artefacts I find.
since I started playing three days ago, they haven't despawned even once.
