coming from both you and Ian C, it seems like an accolade. And the ending will come tomorrow.

Great story so far. Anxious to see how it ends up. As always, you do a great job of showing how the Stalkers relate to eachother; treachery, friendship and such. Looking forward to the conclusion, as well as Ian_C's ending.

You sure you can catch with what you promised, Ian_C? I am already at the part where he arrived at home and even though I haven't learn the art of procrastinating (its an art! I tell you. Somehow the Western peoples, including Kiwis, are born with it, but it is not a built-in feature in me when it comes to writing, especially when I finish everything I started no matter how long ), I can probably finish it by Sunday and post them up. Can you?

Very good, I haven't read a story yet which dealt with a Stalker actually going home rather than dying with home in his thoughts, in a way dying may be preferrable to actually having to see your family again ( have you changed too much from the zone? Do they even want to see you again ) and I feel you got across this mixture of expectation and fear in a subtle but most effective fashion.

Please continue, I know you may be a little tired of writing by now ( although your story doesn't reflect that ) so let's make a pact, you finish this and I'll finish 'The difference...', shall we say two week deadline or do you want to spice things up and make it a week?

---QUOTATION---
Ok, when i have time Ill read it. I am currently considering a pretty big project for stalker right now. It is going to be an adventure story focused on the psychological effects of the zone, the filthy aspects of radiation, and something about a society of men. Personally I have grown tired of action stories so this one will include less mindless gunning and running. I have gave it a working title so far, The Glow. Plot details are still sketchy because I just have started it recently, but when I am done (which may take quite a while) I will post it here for all of you to enjoy.
---END QUOTATION---

Evidently, you have read a big part of the STALKER's stories, because that is almost what I am feeling these days.

home to stay - my tenth story

I know I am quite notorious for long stories, but finally, I decided to give meself a nice new twist. This is my work: 'home to stay'

As it isn't finish yet (suppose to be on par with the deadline- no matter now.), I'll just let you guys enjoy yourself. I can probably end it by Sunday., but do need some tiem to repair it (spelling, tense, structure, style, etc.) So I'm open to comments.

And this is probably under ChanSD5's writing for fun category.

Enjoy!

Introduction - STALKERS game world had always been revolving about adventures and killings in The Zone. But no one has ever tackled the possilibilty of a stalker going home... until now.

'Home to stay' is about a stalker who, after long years at The Zone, decided to come home. Expereince himself as a family man and a stalker, a former farmer of Ukraine who suffered during the second incident, and finally made it alive to return home. Understand him by his recalls. Judge him by his actions.

Enjoy!

-Home sweet home.

-It crossed my mind when I looked out the window seeing the wooden cottage how long have I forgot that word. Even though the train moved fast enough to kill the view within seconds, I could memorize the picture of that little girl on the swing in front of that cottage, so innocent, almost like how my daughter could look like. I am coming home, I wanted to shout in this claustrophobic cabin. I am coming home to my family after being a stalker long enough.

-Is four long years away from my home at the outskirt of Kharkiv enough? No, enough is not the word. Maximum is.

It is ironic to think that I, Sergey Paskov Immatovich, a former farmer, would leave home even though I was a loving family-man. But time. Time and circumstances, they were the one who forced me.

-2006 was supposed to be a good year. I was no economist, but a good year to me was when all my farm products were sold clean the previous year. It meant Ukrainians have more money. It meant I could plant more, reap more, sell more and earned more this year. Good old capitalist system - you earn what you reap what you sow.
-I was wrong.

-After the Second Incident, my farm was visited by the men from Agriculture. Carried some test, and declared my milk couldn't be sold, the beef couldn't and vegetables couldn't be eaten and the eggs couldn't be used. Said fancy stuff like Fallout, contaminated, Caesium and toxic. Did that mean much to a farmer? No. Only that his foodstuff could not be sold anymore. Only that his source of income was gone. Other farms in the Oblast region were affected too.

-The next 2 years were tough. Living on meagre saving and odd jobs, I managed to keep life going. But when the last of jobs disappeared, I had to make the choice. Sitting around was not going to make food appear on the table for my wife and my daughter.
-That was how I ended up in The Zone
